Ry's POV
I can't believe Ari looked more high than she was when she was actually high. Her temperature had gone up significantly. She had shrugged off her blouse and school socks. Now she was walking on school campus in her white camisole and skirt.
"Ari at least wear your cape! People are literally staring at you!" I whisper shout at her.
And I wasn't lying. Any other person that we came across was giving her weird looks and to me too for not doing anything about it.
"I don't want tooo! And I can't help if they want to look at me." she says while twirling her hair.
I open and close my mouth unsure of what to tell her.
"Can we go get ice cream? I want ice cream!" she whines.
She trips on air again and is about to fall on someone before I yank her back close to me.
I grit my teeth in frustration. I did not like being around a high Ari. Good thing she didn't like drinking in the first place.
When did walking home become such a long task?
I look forward to see a booth that is giving fucking ice cream and there's a small group of people around it.
Like hell we would attract anymore attention.
"No Ari-" and she slips away from my grasp and sprints towards the booth.
I groan internally before running up to catch up with her.
"Hii! Can I please have some ice cream? Pleasee!" Ari tells the people behind the booth.
I stare at their fliers and see their trying to recruit for the royale sorcerers. Well no way was she going to enroll in that.
The lady who herself is dressed as a sorcerer gives her a puzzled look.
"What year are you, young lady?" she asks her.
I decide not to interrupt as I know it's never good to mess with sorcerers. They could reveal all your secrets and what not to everyone.
Ari stares at the ice cream while answering.
"Whatever year you want me to be!" she cheerfully tells her.
I smack my face with my hand and it comes to my mind later that she could detect what's going on with her.
The lady narrows her eyes at Ari.
Oh nononono. We don't want that attention.
"Hi! I'm sorry about my friend over here. We won't be bothering you any further." I say apologetically.
She gives me a strange look before turning her attention to someone who just came to the booth and actually looks interested in applying.
I grab her arm and walk at a faster pace forcing her to hurry up.
"But my ice cream!" she complains.
I sigh and ignore her. I could physically feel the little energy I had leaving me.
While walking I accidently bump into someone and mutter an apology but a familiar voice makes me turn around to see who it is as the person opens their mouth.
"Omg Rae! She was in my defense class last semester!" she tells the guy who has his arm wrapped around her.
I look up to see a face I never wanted to come across again.
It was Cassian fucking Sinclair.
I utterly did not have the energy for this and I could already feel the tears on their way.
