If luck had ever been on my side, I really wanted it to show up right now.
For the past 2 hours I have been trying to reason with the head of the admission committee of this academy that they had all gotten this wrong and that I wanted a ride home, but nobody would listen to me.
Giving up, I push the chair back, that I'm sitting in and grab my belongings that I had packed from my room and gotten with me.
"You know what, it's okay. I'll figure out how to go home on my own."
With that I head towards the door and before I know it the lady finally gets off the calling device and jumps out of her seat.
The door that was wide open when I got here loudly shuts and locks itself.
What the fuck?
"What was that for?" I say with a pissed off tone.
"You are not authorized to leave the campus without our approval, Ms. Valentino. Now I suggest you calm down and take a seat. I'll ask for some refreshments. "
This lady was going to send me straight to the dungeon with that voice of hers.
"Don't you understand?? Mrs. Romani I'm sick and tired of this place. And all I'm asking for is a ride home. I don't want to be associated with this place. Is it that hard to understand? I failed all of those little tests..."
I point at my face and all the bruises n injuries I've gotten over my body in these past few days.
"Does this look like I passed? No, it freaking doesn't. You don't even know how much of energy it is taking me to be standing upright in front of you right now! Open the damn door, Mrs. Romani I want out of here." I say while gasping for breath on my last sentence.
Oh please don't pass out on me now, body.
"Okay, I'll tell you then. First take a seat and then I will talk to you." she says in that annoyingly calm voice of hers.
To show her I don't care, I walk up towards the door and tug on it.
She lets out a long sigh and in an instant I'm shoved back into my seat with all my belongings flying into a cage that's next to her desk.
When I try to get up and speak both my legs and mouth refuse to cooperate.
No way was this actually ethical or allowed anywhere out there in these magical peoples world.
"You must understand that everything I'm doing for you is only going to help you in the future. I see a lot of potential in you..."
She continues to talk about nothing that I'm interested in while I look around for an excuse or way to escape.
"Yes, you may have gotten a few scratches here and there..."
My attention snaps back to her and my anger comes back.
A few scratches?? I got way more than a few scratches and I would have had none to start with if I had never showed up to this place in the first place.
"But did you know we have also got contestants in our infirmary with way worse conditions than you? A few of them unfortunately being part of your school. Now I-"
An unknown amount of force rips through me as I jump up from my seat.
"AND YOU THOUGHT I SHOULDN'T KNOW ABOUT THIS? WHAT CRUEL COMMUNITY IS THIS?" I scream.
All this time I hadn't seen my friends was because of this?? And here I had thought they had left me or gone home enjoying their time away from here.
When the wretched lady in front of me starts speaking, I point my finger towards her face with so much hatred I hope that she combusts.
But instead she gets thrown against the wall and her mouth gets sealed shut.
Good. That's exactly what she deserves.
Her eyes enlarge to a point that I don't think is humanely possible while it looks like she would have been screaming her head off if she could speak.
The spells in this room must be glitching or something, I guess...
I grab my stuff and head out towards the entrance.
Finallyy!! I was free from this terrible place.
