Aurora's POV
My head felt like someone had stomped on it till it turned into mush. Which was a wonderful feeling to have as today was the day we headed to the castle for the ball.
I slip on my heels and walk to the door, to lean out of it.
"Anaa! What time do we have to leave again? I don't wanna show up late!" I yell down the hall.
She looks up to me and holds out both of her hands as she talks to another student on our floor.
10 minutes!!
Oh shoot!
I look around my closet for my black lace cape. As I couldn't go to the ball without covering my arms and front.
There were green and red lines that had etched their way onto both of my arms and the top of my chest. It looked like some beast had attacked me. I mean I couldn't remember much on what happened yesterday but the look Ry had given me when I asked her to explain told me enough.
My dark brown hair had gotten purple streaks over night. I had to brown hair chalk to cover it and let them fall freely over my cape. There was definitely something going on with me that I had no clue of. But I didn't know who to trust with my questions.
"Are both of you ready?" I tell Ry and Ana.
Ry gives me a slow nod while Ana is too busy texting someone.
"Alrightyy.' I mutter to myself.
Lav had already gone ahead with her friend and Coralie was going to come with Ian.
The trip to the castle takes around an hour in which we spend our time chattering about how the insides of the castle would look like.
"Do you think their pet serpents will be there? I heard one of my senior friends was literally in the hospital for 2 months after making direct eye contact with one of them." Ana excitedly tells us.
I stare out the window as she continues to talk. What were we supposed to expect after we went there? I know all Ry was thinking about was if she crossed paths with her ex that she apparently was dating for a year..
"You know what, Ava. If you do see one maybe try being friends with them with your nature spells. Who know.. They could like you." Ry absent mindedly says.
"Omg really! My friends would be soo jealous if I was able to pull that stunt. I'm gonna try-"
I but in knowing Ry didn't mean it. "Ava she was joking! You know what has happened to people who tried even getting close to those serpents."
She takes a moment to understand what I said and grudgingly agrees.
If she wasn't so intoxicated with whatever she took in her classes, her judgement might one day finally come back..
"Sooo are you guys planning on pulling any of the handsome elite men that will be showing up? I saw some of them a few days back from the grad academy in combat and it shocked me that I didn't collapse. How the hell can they look so gorgeous?? Perfect smile, hair, face, stature, style.. Everything from them screams authority and perfection."
I roll my eyes and glance at Ry who has gone back to zoning off into her thoughts.
This was going to be a long day...

At the ball:
As I nervously enter the grand ballroom with Ry and Ava , I'm overwhelmed by its beauty. The castle's fancy room is huge, and I feel small in my green silk dress. Clinging to them for support, I take in the shiny chandeliers and pretty decorations on the walls. The air smells like fresh flowers, and I try to calm my shaky nerves. Despite feeling scared, I hope tonight will be full of great moments.
