Apparently it was normal for senior vanishers to hop into people's carriages and see who's entering the academy.

The guy who I was sitting on was a 5th year student who was very pissed that two "commoners" as he said, detected his presence which even most gifted people have trouble realizing.

"Your guy over there is expressing high symptoms of aluria. Which is when your body does not accept the abilities that are inside of you. It's fighting with it and that's why he's getting tired and feeling like that."

Lav and I's eyes widen as we look at each other in shock.

Luca really was freaking gifted.

"I'll take him to a healer and they will be able to calm him down and help in the transitioning phase. Congratulate him once he awakes. He's probably a fighter."

Oh shit. This is bad. Actually worse than bad.

No way could he be a fighter. This would ruin his life and family.

I stare at where the guy should be sitting and my anger sparks.

"Would you show us who you are or do you like us having to talk to thin air?" I snap.

He should know how hard this is for us to grasp and is talking as if we hear such news all the time.

The least he could do is let us see who we are talking to.

Lav's eyes start fluttering back and forth from where I am to him with a scared expression on her face.

He doesn't respond.

That arrogant jerk. Who does he think he is? He must be getting a good laugh at us as he's seeing how uncomfortable we are.

I get up from my seat and throw my hand in his direction and it stops in mid air.

"Now, that's not very nice. How about you apologize and maybe I'll think about revealing myself."

"Nevermind, it's for our own good that we don't see your s-"

I yelp as Lav kicks my shin with her heels.

I bend over to rub the spot she had hit and notice her legs shaking under her dress.

Few seconds later green dust sweeps the air and she falls asleep while Luca disappears from sight.

I jump from my seat as the dust starts to tickle my face.

A bunch of questions fog my mind. Where did he go? What happened to her? Is she okay? How come nothing happened to me?

"I knew you were different. I must see what else you are capable of." a voice says that is different from the previous one.

The carriage comes to a stop and I feel a cold palm wrap around my wrist.

"Get up. I need you to come with me."

And go somewhere with a guy who could possibly kidnap and torture me? I'll pass.

"How about you return me my friend and then get your ass out of this carriage?"

I hear a frustrated sigh.

"You have 5 seconds to get out."

I stay put.

"I warned you."

And before I realize what he meant I see a flash of who is standing in front of me and then I'm  swept off my feet, into a whirlwind.

Don't break down. Please don't break down.

I land on hard tiles below me as my elbows get scraped in the process.
