Apparently there was no mistake in our class having to take the test. But Ms. Rosa fainted before we were given our exam. Which was kind of surprising because she barely fell sick or anything.
All of us gather our belongings and are about to leave when someone enters. A lady with a black robe enters the class: fiery ginger curls cascade down to below her shoulders and her red stilettos make her even more taller than she already is.
Her sharp nose is stuck up in the air as she narrows her hazel eyes to gaze over us. Her aura screams authority. She definitely isn't from here I think. Maybe she is from the highborn's academy? I quickly bow my head to not offend her and others follow my suit.
"Now that is more like it. Just because your teacher fell asleep or should I say "fainted", all of your exams won't be postponed. Before any one of you open your mouths and question my words, let me say that I neither have the time or interest in answering your questions. There will be 4 parts, which you all must have heard of. Everyone will be separated into groups depending on age and last name. You will be monitored the whole time and all of the exam should be completed before sunset. I will be back with the list." she says and leaves the room.
(The overview of test is given below)
**The first is a written portion on the basis of all the academics taught. The second is a speaking portion on the lunarsian language (language that people who have studied in the vysilian academy know). The third is on historical and present botany around the kingdom and students need to have the knowledge on how to use them and what their roots are. Last one is combat with selected vysilian students.**
"What the hell!?" Lena says, the moment "Ms. Snob" leaves the room.
"This is absolutely absurd!" Eli groans.
"We haven't even been taught most of these things!" Ry exclaims from the back.
We all start rambling with each other about how stupid and unfair this is.
A few minutes go by and "Snob" comes back with a group of people in similar clothes as her.
"After your names are called, grab your useless belongings and go with the mentor I assign you with." she says.
After some time we all get assigned a group and follow the mentors. My mentors name is Ryan and he's actually seems nice. This creeps me out though because it never occurred to me that highborn academy students would talk to people out of their society.
He told us it's his third year studying there and that he's going to apply to be a healer for the army once he graduates. I'm guessing he's around 22 or 23. He has dark brown hair and eyes that are a shade lighter.
The group I'm in consists of 5 people including: me, Tara, James, Luca and Estel.
We reach a garden towards the back of our academy and where there used to be plain land, there is now a giant glass testing room.
"The testing room is secured and constructed by spells. Before entering the room you all must put the chains I gave around your necks. It should stay there at all times once you go through that door. This is so the spells know you are not an intruder and have been given permission to access that area. Once done with a section you will be teleported to the next until it's over. Anyone can hail me if questions arise. Best of luck to all of you and make sure to give the exam your best!" Ryan says.
We all walk to our assigned door and put on our chains.
"Let's get this over with." Luca mutters and then enters his door.
His door then disappears and the whole glass room starts flashing orange. I watch as Tara goes in next and the room then turns grey.
What type of sorcery is this? I look over to Ryan who is reciting something underneath his breath while looking towards the room.
Without wasting anymore time, I open my door. I hope the room turns red or black on my turn.
