(Freya Mendoza POV)

The cool night air felt refreshing against my skin as I stepped out onto the balcony of the towering skyscraper. The city lights glittered below like a sea of stars, and for a moment, I felt a sense of peace. I had escaped the suffocating atmosphere of the formal party in the main room, a charity gala hosted by none other than Aiah Arceta, my enigmatic girlfriend and the secret leader of one of the city's most powerful mafia groups.

The dress I wore clung to my body, a sleek black gown that felt more like a cage than an outfit. I leaned against the railing, taking a deep breath and letting the tension of the evening slip away. The door to the balcony opened and closed softly behind me, but I didn't turn around. I knew who it was.

A soft fabric brushed against my shoulders, and I felt the warmth of a blazer being draped over me. I glanced behind me and saw Aiah, her eyes softening as she looked at me. She was the epitome of power and elegance, her presence commanding yet comforting.

"You looked like you needed a break," Aiah said, her voice low and soothing. "These events can be exhausting."

"Thank you," I replied, pulling the blazer tighter around me. It smelled like her, a mix of expensive perfume and something uniquely Aiah. "I just needed some air."

Aiah stepped closer, her fingers gently brushing against my cheek before she tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear. "You always manage to take my breath away, Freya," she murmured, her eyes locking onto mine with an intensity that made my heart race.

"And you always know how to find me," I said, a small smile playing on my lips. "Even in the middle of a crowded room."

Aiah's lips curved into a smile, and she leaned in, her forehead resting against mine. "That's because you're the only one I see," she whispered.

For a moment, we stood there in silence, the noise of the city far below us, a distant hum. Aiah's presence was a balm to my frayed nerves, and I felt a sense of calm wash over me. Her hand found mine, her fingers intertwining with mine as she pulled me closer.

"You don't have to stay in there if you don't want to," Aiah said, her voice firm yet tender. "We can leave, go somewhere just the two of us."

I looked into her eyes, seeing the sincerity and love that she held for me. Despite the dangerous world she was a part of, Aiah had always made me feel safe and cherished. "I'd like that," I said softly. "Let's get out of here."

Aiah's smile widened, and she pressed a gentle kiss to my lips. It was soft at first, a tender promise of love and devotion. But it quickly deepened, her hand cupping the back of my neck as she pulled me closer. I melted into her, the world around us fading away until it was just the two of us under the night sky.

When we finally pulled apart, both of us were breathless. Aiah rested her forehead against mine once more, her eyes filled with a mixture of desire and adoration. "I love you, Freya," she whispered.

"I love you too, Aiah," I replied, my heart full. "Always."

Aiah took my hand, and together we stepped back into the building, leaving the party behind. As we walked through the opulent halls, I felt a sense of freedom and exhilaration. With Aiah by my side, I knew we could face anything together. And as we disappeared into the night, I realized that the only place I ever wanted to be was right here, in Aiah's arms, under the city lights.
