It was a lazy afternoon in their cozy apartment, the soft glow of the setting sun filtering through the windows. Stacey lay sprawled out on the couch, her phone in hand as she absentmindedly scrolled through social media. Her attention, however, wasn't really on her phone. Her eyes kept flicking to the TV, where Jhoanna was seated in front of her gaming console, completely absorbed in her video game.
Jhoanna, as always, was in her element. Her focus never wavered as her fingers expertly moved across the buttons of her controller, her eyes trained on the fast-paced action happening on the screen. Stacey sighed quietly, longing for Jhoanna's attention. She knew her girlfriend loved gaming, but in this moment, she wished Jhoanna would look at her instead.
She set her phone down, turning her head to watch Jhoanna play, hoping maybe—just maybe—Jhoanna would sense her silent plea for attention. To her surprise, Jhoanna did just that.
Without missing a beat, Jhoanna noticed Stacey's change in demeanor. She paused the game, her headphones slipping off one ear as she turned to look at her. "Hey, princess, you okay?" Jhoanna asked softly, her deep brown eyes filled with concern.
Stacey blinked, caught off guard. She wasn't used to this. Her ex-boyfriends had never paused their games for her, never really took the time to check on how she was feeling, let alone notice when she was in need of attention. But here was Jhoanna, stopping everything just for her.
"Um, yeah, baby... I'm fine," Stacey replied, a little flustered by the sudden focus on her. "I'm just feeling... thirsty."
Jhoanna smiled, a smile that sent a wave of warmth through Stacey's heart. "Got it, my love. Any specific drink you want?" Jhoanna asked as she gently put down her controller, then took off her headphones.
Without waiting for Stacey's response, Jhoanna stood up and skipped off to the kitchen, her steps light and full of energy. Stacey couldn't help but watch in awe, her heart swelling at how effortlessly kind and thoughtful Jhoanna was. Her past relationships had never felt like this—so full of care, softness, and genuine love. Jhoanna was different. Jhoanna treated her like she was the most important person in the world, and Stacey found herself falling deeper in love with her every day because of it.
Jhoanna's voice called out from the kitchen, breaking Stacey from her thoughts. "You want water, juice, or maybe something sweet?" she asked, her excitement over a simple request making Stacey's heart skip a beat.
"Water's fine, babe," Stacey replied, trying to keep her voice steady despite the rush of affection she felt. She lay back against the couch, her eyes closing for a moment as she reflected on just how lucky she was to have Jhoanna.
A few moments later, Jhoanna returned with a cold glass of water in hand, her smile as radiant as ever. She handed the glass to Stacey, her fingers brushing lightly against Stacey's, sending a shiver down her spine.
"Here you go, princess," Jhoanna said softly, her tone so full of affection it made Stacey's chest tighten.
Stacey took a small sip of the water, feeling the coolness refresh her. But even more refreshing was Jhoanna's presence, her love, her care. She looked up at her girlfriend, and without thinking, she set the glass down on the coffee table and pulled Jhoanna down into her arms.
Jhoanna, caught off guard but clearly pleased, let out a soft laugh as she fell into Stacey's embrace. Before she could ask what was going on, Stacey's lips were on hers, capturing them in a deep, passionate kiss. Jhoanna's surprise melted away almost instantly as she responded, her hands finding their way to Stacey's waist, pulling her closer.
The kiss grew heated, filled with the unspoken emotions they shared. Jhoanna pressed Stacey gently into the couch, her body hovering just above hers as their lips continued to move together in perfect harmony. Stacey's hands tangled in Jhoanna's hair, tugging gently as she deepened the kiss, pouring every ounce of her love and desire into it.
The world outside ceased to exist in that moment. It was just the two of them—Stacey and Jhoanna—wrapped up in each other, their breaths mingling, their hearts pounding in sync.
After what felt like an eternity, Jhoanna finally pulled away, her lips lingering near Stacey's for just a moment longer before she broke the kiss entirely. She hovered above Stacey, her eyes dark and full of adoration as she looked down at her girlfriend.
"Wow..." Jhoanna whispered, her voice husky from the intensity of the moment. "That was... unexpected."
Stacey smiled up at her, her cheeks flushed and her lips tingling from the kiss. "You're just... so amazing," she whispered, her voice soft but filled with sincerity. "I've never had anyone treat me like this before. You make me feel so loved."
Jhoanna's expression softened, and she leaned down to press a gentle kiss to Stacey's forehead. "You deserve it, princess. You deserve all the love in the world."
Stacey's heart fluttered at Jhoanna's words. She reached up, cupping Jhoanna's cheek with one hand as she gazed into her eyes. "I love you, Jhoanna," she whispered, the words spilling out without hesitation. It wasn't the first time she'd said it, but every time she did, it felt more real, more profound.
"I love you too, Stacey," Jhoanna replied, her voice full of warmth. She brushed a strand of hair away from Stacey's face, her touch tender and full of affection. "More than anything."
They stayed like that for a moment, simply gazing into each other's eyes, their hearts full of the love they shared. There was no rush, no need to fill the silence with words. Everything they needed to say was already spoken in the way they held each other, in the way their lips had met, in the way their love filled the room.
Finally, Jhoanna leaned down to kiss Stacey again, this time softer, slower, savoring the moment. When they pulled away, she settled beside Stacey on the couch, pulling her close so that Stacey's head rested on her shoulder.
"I'll finish the game later," Jhoanna whispered with a grin, her arm wrapped protectively around Stacey. "Right now, all I want to do is be with you."
Stacey smiled, feeling a warmth spread through her chest as she snuggled into Jhoanna's side. "Good," she murmured, her voice laced with contentment. "Because I want to be with you too."
And for the rest of the evening, that's exactly what they did—no distractions, no interruptions. Just the two of them, wrapped up in each other's love, their hearts beating in perfect sync.
