Aiah Arceta, Maloi Ricalde, Stacey Sevilleja, and Sheena Catacutan were having a relaxing girls' day at the cozy house Aiah shared with Mikha Lim. The sun was setting, casting a warm glow through the windows, and the girls were lounging in the living room, chatting and laughing.
Sheena, who had been lost in thought for a while, suddenly spoke up. "Funny when our girlfriends are always out during the night..." Her tone was light, but there was an underlying curiosity that made the others pause.
Maloi tilted her head, considering Sheena's words. "Yeah, now that you mention it, Colet is always out late. She says it's work, but it feels like more than that."
Aiah, always the analytical one, added, "Mikha's the same. She says she's working late at the office, but I don't know... it feels off."
Stacey, who had been sipping her drink, frowned. "Jhoanna too. She's always out 'practicing' basketball, but it's late, like really late."
As they pondered this mystery, the news on the television caught their attention. A serious-looking anchor was reporting, "A person was found in an alleyway, their blood completely drained. Authorities are baffled and urge the public to be cautious."
Concern and worry etched on their faces, the four girls exchanged uneasy glances. "We need to call them," Aiah said, her voice trembling slightly.
They each grabbed their phones and called their girlfriends. It didn't take long for Mikha, Colet, Jhoanna, and Gwen to return home, their expressions calm and collected despite the obvious worry in their partners' eyes.
"What happened?" Mikha asked, taking Aiah's hand gently.
Aiah explained, "We saw the news... about the person found in the alleyway. We're just worried about you."
Colet, brushing off Maloi's concern, said, "Don't worry, babe. We're fine. It's probably just some isolated incident."
Jhoanna nodded in agreement, pulling Stacey into a comforting hug. "Yeah, nothing to worry about."
Gwen, always the stoic one, reassured Sheena, "We'll be fine. You know how cautious we are."
The girls tried to push their worries aside, trusting their girlfriends' reassurances. However, as Mikha, Colet, Jhoanna, and Gwen went upstairs to change and shower, Sheena's sharp eyes caught something red on Gwen's collar. Her breath hitched, and a sense of dread filled her.
Sheena grabbed Gwen's hand, pulling her into their bedroom and closing the door behind them. "Gwen, we need to talk."
Gwen sighed, knowing this moment would come eventually. "Sheena, there's something I need to tell you."
With a deep breath, Gwen's eyes shifted, glowing a deep, eerie red. Her canines elongated into sharp fangs. Sheena's eyes widened, her heart pounding in her chest.
"I'm a vampire," Gwen admitted softly. "Mikha, Colet, and Jhoanna are too. We've kept this from you to protect you."
Sheena took a step back, her mind racing. "Vampires? But how... why didn't you tell us?"
Gwen reached out, her expression pained. "We didn't want to scare you. We've always controlled our urges and fed on animals, never humans. But sometimes... things happen."
Sheena's fear began to mix with her love for Gwen. "And the person on the news... was that...?"
Gwen shook her head. "No, that wasn't us. There are others out there, ones who don't follow the same rules we do. We would never hurt anyone, especially not you."
Sheena felt tears welling up in her eyes. "I don't know what to think, Gwen. This is... a lot."
Gwen stepped closer, her voice gentle. "I understand. It's a lot to take in. But I love you, Sheena. I always have, and that hasn't changed."
Sheena looked into Gwen's eyes, seeing the sincerity and love there. She took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing heart. "I love you too, Gwen. But this is... it's going to take time."
Gwen nodded, pulling Sheena into a tight embrace. "Take all the time you need. I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere."
Downstairs, Aiah, Maloi, and Stacey were discussing their own concerns when they heard footsteps. Mikha, Colet, and Jhoanna had finished changing and joined them, their expressions guarded.
"We need to tell them," Gwen said firmly, holding Sheena's hand as they came down the stairs.
Mikha exchanged a look with Colet and Jhoanna, then nodded. "You're right."
The room grew silent as Mikha began, "There's something you all need to know about us."
With that, Mikha, Colet, Jhoanna, and Gwen revealed their true nature to their partners. Eyes glowed red, fangs were bared, and the room filled with an almost palpable tension.
Aiah, Maloi, Stacey, and Sheena listened in stunned silence, their minds struggling to process the revelation. As the truth sank in, the initial shock gave way to a whirlwind of emotions.
Aiah, always the rational one, was the first to speak. "So, all this time, you've been... vampires?"
Mikha nodded, her eyes filled with regret. "Yes. We didn't want to hide it from you, but we thought it was for the best."
Maloi looked at Colet, her eyes wide. "But you've never...?"
Colet shook her head. "No, we've never fed on humans. We stick to animals. We didn't want to hurt anyone."
Stacey, her mind racing, asked, "Why didn't you tell us sooner?"
Jhoanna took Stacey's hand, her expression earnest. "We were scared. Scared of losing you, of you being afraid of us."
Sheena, still holding Gwen's hand, sighed. "This is a lot to take in. But... I know you. I know you wouldn't hurt anyone."
Gwen squeezed her hand. "We wouldn't. We love you all too much."
The room fell into a contemplative silence, the weight of the revelation settling over them. It was Aiah who finally broke the silence, her voice determined. "This changes things, but it doesn't change how I feel about you, Mikha. I love you, and we'll figure this out together."
Maloi, nodding in agreement, added, "Yeah. We'll get through this. We always do."
Stacey, tears in her eyes, smiled at Jhoanna. "I love you, and nothing will change that."
Sheena, her voice steady, said, "We need to take it one step at a time. But we're here, and we're not going anywhere."
The tension in the room began to dissipate, replaced by a sense of unity and resolve. The girls knew it wouldn't be easy, but their love for each other was stronger than any secret.
As the night went on, they talked, shared their fears, and reaffirmed their commitment to one another. The bond between them, forged through years of friendship and love, remained unbroken.
And so, under the same roof, humans and vampires found common ground, their love and trust shining brighter than the secrets that had once kept them apart.
