Colet pushed the door open, the sound of her keys jingling as she stepped into the dimly lit living room. The evening had been pleasant, filled with laughter and conversation with friends over a nice dinner. But as she walked further into the room, she couldn't help but feel the familiar pull of home—specifically, the pull of the person who made this place feel like home.
Olivia was lounging on the couch, her sharp blue eyes flickering up to meet Colet's the moment she stepped inside. Olivia was dressed casually, a soft black sweater clinging to her lean frame, but there was nothing casual about the way she looked at Colet. There was an intensity in her gaze that made Colet's heart skip a beat.
Before Colet could say a word, Olivia stood up and crossed the room with purposeful strides. Colet didn't have time to react before Olivia took her hand, her fingers wrapping around Colet's wrist as she pulled it closer to her face. The taller woman brought Colet's wrist to her nose, inhaling deeply as her expression shifted from curious to something more... primal.
"What perfume is this?" Olivia asked, her voice low and tinged with something dark. Her usual British accent was even deeper, sending a shiver down Colet's spine.
Colet blinked, momentarily caught off guard by the question. "Oh, it's just something one of the girls had on. I think it might've rubbed off on me during a hug," she explained, her voice soft as she looked up at Olivia.
But Olivia's eyes narrowed slightly, her grip on Colet's wrist tightening just a fraction. "A trap," Olivia murmured, almost to herself, as she continued to inhale the scent clinging to Colet's skin. "It's a trap, that's what it is."
Colet couldn't help but laugh softly at Olivia's serious tone, though there was a flicker of concern in her chest. "You don't like it?" she asked, watching as Olivia's brows furrowed.
Olivia huffed softly, still holding Colet's wrist close. "Hate it," she declared, her deep voice filled with disdain. "I hate the idea of anyone else's scent on you."
Before Colet could respond, Olivia brought her lips to Colet's palm and bit down gently, her eyes never leaving Colet's. The gesture wasn't painful, more like a teasing nip, but the possessiveness behind it was clear.
"Are you planning to run away from me again, Colet?" Olivia asked, her voice a low rumble as she pressed a kiss to the spot she'd just bitten.
Colet's heart fluttered at the intensity in Olivia's voice, but she shook her head, a small smile tugging at her lips. She reached out with her free hand, rubbing Olivia's chin gently, as if she were soothing a stubborn puppy. "I'm not going anywhere, Liv," Colet reassured her, her voice filled with affection. "I'm right here."
Olivia's eyes softened at the touch, the corners of her lips twitching up into a smirk. She took Colet's wrist and guided it around her neck, pulling Colet closer until their bodies were flush against each other.
"You'd better not," Olivia murmured, her voice losing some of its earlier edge as she leaned down to nuzzle against Colet's neck. "I wouldn't let you go, even if you tried."
Colet chuckled, the sound vibrating against Olivia's skin as she wrapped her arms around her taller girlfriend. "And what makes you think I'd want to leave?" she asked, her tone playful as she pressed a kiss to Olivia's collarbone.
Olivia's smirk grew, her hands sliding down to rest on Colet's hips. "Because you're trouble," she teased, though there was a warmth in her voice that betrayed her true feelings. "Always getting into some kind of mischief."
Colet grinned, leaning back slightly to look up at Olivia. "But I always come back to you, don't I?" she pointed out, her eyes shining with affection.
Olivia sighed, her smirk softening into a genuine smile as she nodded. "You do," she agreed, her voice a tender whisper. "And I'm grateful for that every day."
They stood there for a moment, wrapped in each other's arms, the world outside fading into the background. It was just the two of them, their hearts beating in sync as they shared this quiet, intimate moment.
Olivia leaned down and captured Colet's lips in a slow, lingering kiss, her fingers threading through Colet's hair as she pulled her closer. Colet melted into the kiss, her hands gripping the back of Olivia's neck as she returned the affection with equal fervor.
When they finally pulled apart, both of them were breathing heavily, their foreheads resting against each other's as they caught their breath.
"Promise me something," Olivia whispered, her voice soft yet serious.
Colet nodded, her eyes searching Olivia's. "Anything," she replied, her voice equally soft.
"Promise me that you'll always come back to me," Olivia said, her eyes filled with a vulnerability that she rarely showed.
Colet's heart swelled at the request, and she cupped Olivia's face in her hands, her thumbs brushing against her girlfriend's cheeks. "I promise," she vowed, her voice firm and filled with love. "I'll always come back to you, Olivia. Always."
Olivia closed her eyes, exhaling softly as if a weight had been lifted off her shoulders. She leaned into Colet's touch, her heart feeling lighter than it had in a long time.
"Good," Olivia murmured, her voice laced with contentment. "Because I'm not sure what I'd do without you."
Colet smiled, pressing a soft kiss to Olivia's lips before pulling her into a tight embrace. "You'll never have to find out," she whispered, her voice filled with conviction. "I'm here to stay."
And as they stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, they knew that no matter what life threw their way, they would always find their way back to each other. Their love was a constant, unshakable force that would guide them through anything—just as it had done tonight.
