The dorm room was quiet except for the hum of the air conditioner and the low murmur of a late-night talk show on TV. Aiah Arceta sat on the couch, her eyes fixed on the screen but her mind elsewhere. As the school's president and a model student, she was used to maintaining a facade of control and composure, but tonight was different. Her feelings were tangled in a knot of jealousy and frustration, and she couldn't shake them.
The door swung open with a familiar creak, and Mikha Lim stumbled into the room, her party dress still glimmering under the hallway light. Mikha was known for her wild nights and carefree attitude, a stark contrast to Aiah's disciplined and serious demeanor. Yet, behind closed doors, they had an arrangement that no one knew about—roommates with benefits. Tonight, though, Mikha's playful grin faltered when she noticed Aiah's unusual silence.
"Hey, Aiah," Mikha said, her voice carrying a hint of concern. "What's wrong? You look like someone stole your homework."
Aiah, still focused on the TV, didn't respond. She remained seated, her posture stiff and her jaw set. Mikha's concern turned into irritation. She walked over to the couch, plopping down beside Aiah, but Aiah remained unresponsive, her eyes never leaving the screen.
"Seriously, Aiah. What's going on?" Mikha's patience wore thin, and she reached out, nudging Aiah's arm.
Aiah flinched, her eyes narrowing. "Nothing."
Mikha's frustration bubbled up. "I know you're mad about something. You can't just ignore me."
Without waiting for a response, Aiah stood up abruptly and walked past Mikha, heading toward the small kitchenette. Her movement was sharp, and Mikha could see the tension in her shoulders. Mikha, feeling a surge of anger, followed her.
"Fine! If you don't want to talk, maybe I should just leave!" Mikha snapped.
Aiah stopped in her tracks, her back to Mikha. "Maybe you should."
Mikha's rage flared, and she spun Aiah around, pinning her against the wall. "Why are you being such a—"
Before Mikha could finish, Aiah's eyes flashed with defiance. With surprising strength, Aiah reversed their positions, pinning Mikha against the wall. The intensity in Aiah's gaze was palpable, her body pressed close to Mikha's.
Mikha gasped, her breath hitching as she looked up at Aiah. The room seemed to close in around them, the air charged with raw emotion. Aiah's lips parted, her voice barely a whisper. "You think you can just come in here and act like everything's fine?"
Mikha's eyes were wide, her heart pounding in her chest. "What are you talking about?"
Aiah's fingers dug into Mikha's shoulders, her grip firm but not painful. "You go out every night, flaunt yourself, and act like nothing matters. But it does matter to me."
Mikha's breath caught in her throat. The vulnerability in Aiah's voice was something she had never heard before. "Aiah—"
Before Mikha could say more, Aiah's lips crashed into hers, the kiss fierce and demanding. Mikha's initial surprise quickly melted into passion as she kissed Aiah back, her hands sliding up Aiah's back. The kiss deepened, their bodies pressing together with an urgency that left no room for doubts.
The world outside ceased to exist as they lost themselves in each other. Their breaths mingled, their hands exploring, and their hearts beating as one. The intensity of their desire was matched only by the depth of their emotions.
When they finally broke apart, both were breathless and flushed. Aiah's eyes were filled with tears, her vulnerability laid bare. "I'm sorry," she whispered, her voice trembling. "I didn't mean to—"
Mikha cupped Aiah's face, her thumb brushing away the tears. "No, don't apologize. I should be the one saying sorry."
Aiah looked at Mikha, her eyes searching for understanding. "Sorry for what?"
Mikha's expression softened, her gaze tender. "For making you feel this way. You don't have to be jealous, Aiah. I should've been more considerate."
Aiah's eyes widened, her heart aching at Mikha's words. "But you—you're always out there, living this... this life."
Mikha shook her head, a small smile playing on her lips. "I was. But that was before I realized how much you mean to me. I want you to know that you own my heart now."
Aiah's breath hitched, her eyes filling with hope. "What do you mean?"
Mikha pulled Aiah closer, her fingers tracing the curve of Aiah's back with a gentle touch. "I mean that I'm done being the playgirl. I want to be with you, truly and completely. I'll stop going to parties, stop all of it. Because what I want is you, Aiah."
Aiah's heart soared at Mikha's confession. She wrapped her arms around Mikha, holding her close. "I didn't think—"
"You didn't think I'd change?" Mikha interrupted softly. "I've been thinking a lot. About us. And I realized that I want to be the person you deserve."
Aiah's tears fell freely now, her joy mingling with relief. "I've always wanted that too."
Mikha kissed Aiah's forehead, her lips lingering in a gentle, loving touch. "Then let's make it work. We don't have to follow anyone else's rules. We make our own."
Aiah nodded, her heart full of love. "I'd like that."
The two of them held each other in the dim light of their dorm room, their hearts connected in a way they had never been before. The weight of their emotions had been lifted, replaced by a sense of hope and promise.
As the night wore on, they stayed wrapped in each other's arms, their love renewed and their commitment stronger than ever. In the quiet of their dorm room, they found solace and a shared future, knowing that they were ready to face whatever came their way together.
And so, in that small, intimate space, Aiah and Mikha began a new chapter of their lives—one where jealousy and desire were replaced by understanding, trust, and an unwavering bond.
