The soft glow of the television illuminated the room, casting faint shadows on the cozy living room where Maloi and Stacey sat comfortably on opposite ends of the couch. The hum of Stacey's favorite show filled the space, accompanied by the soft scratching of Maloi's pencil as it glided across her sketchpad. It was an ordinary evening—one of those quiet nights where they enjoyed each other's company without needing to say much.
Maloi was focused, her hand moving steadily as she sketched on the paper, while Stacey absentmindedly scrolled through her phone. Every now and then, Stacey would glance at the TV, her attention flickering between her show and the endless stream of social media updates. It was peaceful, the kind of night they both loved—being together without needing to speak, simply sharing the same space.
But tonight, there was something different in the air.
As Stacey continued scrolling, she suddenly felt a pair of eyes on her. The sensation made her pause, her heart picking up speed as she glanced over her shoulder. Sure enough, there was Maloi, staring at her with a soft, almost mischievous smile on her lips.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Stacey asked, her voice light, but her heart pounding harder in her chest. Her cheeks flushed a delicate shade of pink, and she quickly turned her attention back to her phone, trying to hide the growing blush on her face.
Maloi chuckled, her laughter soft and affectionate. She leaned her head against her hand, her eyes never leaving Stacey's face. "Because you're cute," she said simply, her voice a low murmur that made Stacey's heart flutter even more.
"Stop," Stacey whined, though the blush on her cheeks only deepened. She tried to focus on her phone, but it was impossible to ignore the way Maloi's eyes lingered on her, tracing every feature of her face with a level of intensity that made her stomach flip.
Maloi's lips curled into a teasing grin. "I can't help it," she admitted, closing her sketchbook and setting it aside. Her attention was now fully on Stacey, her gaze soft but unwavering. "You're beautiful, and I like watching you when you're not paying attention."
Stacey's heart raced at Maloi's words, and she could feel her face growing hotter by the second. She couldn't believe how easily Maloi could fluster her, even after all the time they had been together. There was something about the way Maloi looked at her—like she was the most captivating thing in the world—that made Stacey's insides turn to jelly.
"You're so annoying," Stacey mumbled, her lips curling into a small smile despite her embarrassment. She glanced at Maloi out of the corner of her eye, trying to keep her composure, but the playful gleam in Maloi's eyes made it impossible.
"Am I?" Maloi asked, her voice filled with mock innocence as she slowly inched closer to Stacey on the couch. The younger girl watched her girlfriend's every move, her heart beating faster with every inch Maloi closed between them.
"Yeah," Stacey replied, though her voice was noticeably softer now. "You know exactly what you're doing."
Maloi smirked, her eyes glinting with mischief as she finally closed the distance between them, sitting right next to Stacey on the couch. She rested her arm on the back of the sofa, her fingers lightly brushing Stacey's shoulder. "Maybe I do," she said with a shrug, her voice low and teasing. "But can you blame me? You're irresistible."
Stacey rolled her eyes, trying to fight the smile that tugged at her lips. She could feel her pulse racing, her body reacting to Maloi's proximity, the heat of her girlfriend's gaze making her feel dizzy with anticipation.
"You're such a flirt," Stacey said, though her voice lacked the usual bite. It was hard to sound annoyed when her heart was hammering in her chest, and all she could think about was how close Maloi was.
Maloi leaned in, her breath warm against Stacey's cheek as she whispered, "Only with you."
The blush on Stacey's face deepened, and she couldn't stop the soft laugh that escaped her lips. "You're impossible," she said, finally turning her head to meet Maloi's gaze. The intensity in her girlfriend's eyes made her heart skip a beat, and for a moment, she forgot how to breathe.
"I love seeing you blush," Maloi murmured, her hand gently cupping Stacey's cheek. "You're so cute when you're flustered."
Stacey bit her lip, trying to maintain some semblance of composure, but it was impossible when Maloi was looking at her like that—like she was the only person in the world that mattered. She leaned into Maloi's touch, her heart pounding in her chest as she whispered, "You're making it worse."
"Good," Maloi replied with a soft chuckle, her thumb brushing over Stacey's flushed cheek. "I want to make you blush."
Stacey's breath hitched in her throat as Maloi's face inched closer to hers. The tension between them crackled like electricity, and Stacey felt her pulse quicken as Maloi's lips hovered just inches from hers.
The world seemed to slow down, and for a moment, the only thing Stacey could hear was the sound of her own heartbeat, thudding loudly in her ears. She could feel Maloi's breath against her lips, warm and inviting, and all she wanted was to close the distance between them.
"Maloi..." Stacey breathed, her voice barely above a whisper.
Maloi didn't say a word. She simply closed the distance, capturing Stacey's lips in a soft, lingering kiss. It was slow and sweet, a kiss that spoke of all the love and affection they held for each other. Stacey melted into the kiss, her heart swelling with emotion as she wrapped her arms around Maloi's neck, pulling her closer.
The kiss deepened, their lips moving in perfect sync as they lost themselves in each other. Stacey's fingers tangled in Maloi's hair, her heart racing as their bodies pressed together on the couch. The rest of the world faded away, leaving only the two of them, wrapped up in each other's arms.
When they finally pulled away, both of them were breathless, their foreheads resting against each other as they caught their breath.
"You're still staring," Stacey whispered, her lips curving into a small smile.
Maloi chuckled, her eyes soft and full of adoration. "I can't help it," she said, brushing a strand of hair behind Stacey's ear. "You're my favorite view."
Stacey's heart fluttered at Maloi's words, and she couldn't stop the smile that spread across her face. "You're cheesy," she said, but there was no denying the warmth that bloomed in her chest.
"Only for you," Maloi replied, her voice soft and sincere.
Stacey leaned in, pressing a gentle kiss to Maloi's lips, feeling her heart swell with love for the girl sitting beside her. She had never felt this way about anyone before—so deeply, so completely in love.
As they settled back into the couch, their fingers intertwined, Stacey glanced up at Maloi, who was still looking at her with that same adoring gaze.
"Stop staring," Stacey said with a soft laugh, though there was no real force behind her words.
Maloi grinned, giving Stacey's hand a gentle squeeze. "Never."
And in that moment, Stacey knew she wouldn't want it any other way.
