Colet sat on the hood of Maloi's car, sipping her drink as the voices of her friends floated around her. Maloi and Stacey were deep in conversation, and though Colet loved being around them, tonight, everything felt dull. She sighed, glancing up at the stars scattered across the night sky. The makeshift parking lot party wasn't her idea, but Maloi and Aiah had dragged her here. The music played in the background, muffled as the hours ticked by. It wasn't that she didn't like parties; it was just that she missed her girlfriend—Gwen.

Colet's phone buzzed in her pocket, interrupting her thoughts. She pulled it out to see a message from Gwen, and her heart skipped. Gwen wasn't the type to send many texts, so when she did, Colet always knew it was important.

Where are you, Baby?

Colet could almost hear Gwen's deep voice in her head, that commanding tone that always made her feel butterflies. She pressed the call button, knowing Gwen would want to hear her explanation in person.

As the line connected, she hesitated, "I'm sorry, Langga. I'm at a parking lot a few kilometers behind the school with the others... I didn't tell you because Maloi and Aiah dragged me here. I didn't think it was a big deal."

There was a brief pause, then a low hum from the other end, followed by the unmistakable sound of an engine roaring to life. The call ended abruptly, and Colet's brows furrowed. Gwen didn't say much, but the roaring engine was enough to tell her that Gwen was on her way. That's when she knew things were about to get intense.

She turned back to her friends, trying to push away the nervousness bubbling in her chest. Maloi and Stacey had been joined by Sheena, and the three of them were cracking jokes, oblivious to the tension Colet felt rising.

That's when John, one of the boys from school, stumbled over to them. Colet could smell the alcohol on his breath before he even got close.

"Hey Colet, what's up?" John slurred, his gaze lingering on her longer than it should have. He stumbled closer, his hand reaching out for her arm.

"Back off, John," Maloi said, stepping between them before things could escalate. "You're drunk."

John ignored her, his eyes locked on Colet. He reached again, this time his hand brushing against her sleeve.

"John, don't." Stacey added, glaring at him. Sheena had her arms crossed, ready to step in if needed.

But before anyone could say another word, the roar of engines filled the parking lot. Colet's heart leaped as four big bikes appeared, cutting through the dimly lit space like shadows. Heads turned, and the crowd fell silent.

The first bike, a red Ducati Panigale V4, pulled up with a sleek purr. Mikha, the captain of their school volleyball team, slid off her bike, removing her helmet with a steely gaze. Stacey's girlfriend.

Next came a blue Kawasaki Ninja 400, the owner none other than Aiah, the school's famous model and Maloi's girlfriend. Aiah looked calm, but Colet knew better—she wasn't one to mess with when things got heated.

A third bike rolled in—a gray BMW S1000RR. Jhoanna, the president of the student council and the school's no-nonsense reporter, dismounted. Sheena's girlfriend, and the most composed of them all, though her eyes carried a storm when she was angry.

And then came the last bike, a black Yamaha R6. Colet's breath caught in her throat as Gwen pulled up, taking off her helmet. Her short orange hair spilled out, her face dark with anger as her eyes locked onto John, who had foolishly tried to flirt with Colet.

Gwen didn't waste a second. She walked straight toward Colet, her presence making the small crowd of onlookers shrink back. The air around her was tense, the only sound the slow rumble of engines cooling down.

Without a word, Gwen grabbed Colet's hand, her grip firm yet protective. "We're done here," Gwen said coldly, her eyes piercing through John's drunken haze. He staggered back, cowed by the intensity of her glare.

Maloi, Stacey, and Sheena quickly moved to their girlfriends, leaving Colet alone with Gwen. As they walked toward the bike, Colet could feel the tension still radiating from Gwen.

"Langga..." Colet whispered, trying to calm her down as Gwen helped her into her own biker jacket. She could see the storm in Gwen's eyes, but there was also something softer beneath the anger—worry.

Gwen paused, her hands resting on Colet's shoulders as she adjusted her helmet. For a moment, their eyes met, and Gwen's expression softened. She exhaled deeply, brushing a strand of hair behind Colet's ear.

"I'm fine, Langga," Colet reassured her with a small smile.

Gwen let out a low sigh, her expression softening as she nodded. "You better be." She turned, straddling her bike before gesturing for Colet to hop on behind her. The moment Colet settled in, her arms wrapped around Gwen's waist, she felt the familiar comfort of being close to her.

With a twist of the throttle, Gwen's bike roared to life, and soon they were speeding away from the parking lot. Behind them, Mikha, Aiah, and Jhoanna followed, but eventually, they peeled off one by one, leaving Colet and Gwen alone on the road.

The city lights faded into the distance as they drove into the night, the wind rushing past them. Colet rested her head against Gwen's back, feeling the tension from the evening melt away. There was something freeing about riding with Gwen, leaving everything else behind.

After a while, they pulled off onto a secluded overlook. Gwen killed the engine, the sudden silence almost deafening. Colet slid off the bike, stretching her legs before turning to Gwen, who stood watching the horizon.

"Langga," Colet called softly, stepping closer. Gwen turned to her, her dark eyes still carrying the remnants of her earlier anger.

"I don't like it when you don't tell me where you are," Gwen muttered, her voice low but not harsh. "I get worried."

Colet smiled, reaching up to brush her fingers through Gwen's hair. "I know, Langga. I'm sorry. I won't let that happen again."

Gwen's shoulders relaxed as she wrapped her arms around Colet's waist, pulling her close. The tension between them melted away, leaving only the warmth of their embrace.

"I love you," Gwen whispered, her voice soft in Colet's ear.

Colet smiled, her heart swelling as she pressed a kiss to Gwen's lips. "I love you too, Langga."

As the night stretched on, they stayed there, wrapped up in each other, the city far behind them.
