(Colet Vergara POV)

The mansion was cloaked in silence as I slipped through the grand entrance, my boots clicking softly on the marble floor. The night's business had been particularly rough—deals gone awry, rival factions making their presence felt, and a few bruises to show for it. My body ached, but the sight of my home, my sanctuary, was a welcome relief.

The living room was dimly lit, casting long shadows that danced across the walls. I spotted Olivia on the couch, her delicate features framed by a cascade of soft brown curls. She was asleep, her body curled into a cozy, relaxed position, and my heart warmed at the sight.

I walked over quietly, careful not to wake her. Olivia was my anchor, the calm in the storm of my chaotic life. Seeing her waiting for me, despite everything, made the weight of the world feel a little lighter.

Gently, I bent down and scooped Olivia into my arms. Her weight was nothing compared to the relief I felt holding her close. As I carried her up the stairs, her head rested against my shoulder, her breath warm and steady.

In our bedroom, I laid her down on the bed with the utmost care. She stirred slightly, her eyes fluttering open to meet mine. There was a moment of confusion before recognition settled in, and a sleepy smile graced her lips.

"Colet," she murmured, her voice husky with sleep. "You're back."

I brushed a strand of hair away from her face, my touch tender. "I am. Did you wait up for me?"

Olivia blinked sleepily, then reached out to touch my face. "Of course. I was worried."

She sat up, her concern immediately shifting to the sight of the bruises and cuts on my face. Her fingers traced gently over the injuries, her expression turning to one of deep worry. "You're hurt."

I nodded, wincing slightly as she examined a particularly tender spot. "It's nothing serious. Just a few rough encounters."

Without hesitation, Olivia stood up and went to the bathroom, retrieving a first aid kit. She returned to the bed with a determined look on her face. "Let me take care of you."

I watched as she meticulously cleaned and bandaged my wounds, her touch both gentle and practiced. The care she showed was a stark contrast to the harsh world outside these walls. As she worked, her focus was solely on me, her love and concern evident in every movement.

"Why do you do this?" I asked softly, my voice filled with admiration. "You're always there for me, no matter what."

Olivia's hands paused for a moment as she looked up at me, her eyes filled with a mix of sadness and resolve. "Because I love you, Colet. And I know the dangers you face. I can't change what you do, but I can be here to help you through it."

Her words touched me deeply. I reached out and took her hand, holding it against my cheek. "I don't deserve you, Olivia. You're my strength, my heart."

Olivia smiled, a soft, loving smile that made my heart swell. "You don't have to deserve me. I choose to be with you, no matter what."

After finishing with the bandages, she sat beside me, her hand still clasped in mine. The quiet of the room enveloped us, and for a moment, the chaos of my world was a distant memory.

As I looked at Olivia, I saw not just my wife but my partner, my confidante, the one who made every danger and every risk worth it. She had a way of making me feel safe, even in the midst of the storm.

I leaned in and kissed her softly, the warmth of the gesture speaking volumes. "Thank you for everything, Olivia. I don't know how I'd manage without you."

She kissed me back, her lips soft and tender against mine. "You'll never have to find out," she whispered. "I'll always be here."

We spent the rest of the night wrapped in each other's arms, the world outside forgotten. In the safety of our bedroom, with Olivia by my side, I felt a sense of peace and belonging that I had rarely known.

As I drifted off to sleep, I knew that no matter what the future held, as long as we had each other, we could face it all. Our love was a beacon of light in the darkness, and with Olivia, I felt invincible.
