Aiah stood near the edge of her billion-dollar yacht, the soft hum of the engine blending with the gentle lapping of the waves against the hull. The sun was beginning its descent, casting a golden hue across the water and painting the sky with shades of pink and orange. She sighed, her heart heavy with a sadness that seemed to mirror the sinking sun. She took a sip of her wine, the rich flavor offering little comfort to her troubled thoughts.
Lost in her reverie, Aiah didn't notice the silent approach of her guard, Mikha. Clad in her usual all-black outfit, complete with sunglasses, Mikha's presence was as imposing as it was reassuring. Her long red hair danced with the wind, a fiery contrast to her stoic demeanor. Without a word, Mikha draped her blazer over Aiah's shoulders, the warmth of the fabric a stark contrast to the cool evening breeze.
Aiah turned, her eyes meeting Mikha's intense gaze. The guard's expression was unreadable, but her actions spoke volumes. Mikha had always been a mystery—cold, quiet, and unfathomable. Yet, in this moment, Aiah felt a connection, a silent understanding that passed between them.
"Thank you," Aiah murmured, her voice barely audible over the sound of the waves.
Mikha nodded slightly, her eyes never leaving Aiah's. "It's getting chilly," she replied, her voice low and soothing.
Aiah's heart fluttered at the rare gentleness in Mikha's tone. She had always admired Mikha's strength and composure, but there was something deeply alluring about this softer side. The sun continued its descent, casting long shadows across the deck and bathing them in the last remnants of daylight.
"You always know what I need," Aiah said softly, her gaze drifting back to the horizon. "Even when I don't."
Mikha took a step closer, her presence a comforting shield against the encroaching night. "It's my job to protect you," she said simply, but there was an unspoken depth to her words that hinted at something more.
Aiah looked up at Mikha, her eyes searching for answers in the guard's enigmatic expression. "Is that all it is?" she asked, her voice tinged with a mix of hope and fear.
For a moment, Mikha's stoic facade seemed to waver, and Aiah caught a glimpse of the emotions swirling beneath. "No," Mikha admitted quietly, her gaze softening. "It's more than that."
The air between them crackled with unspoken words and unfulfilled desires. Aiah reached out, her fingers brushing against Mikha's hand. The touch was electric, sending a shiver down her spine. "Mikha," she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion.
In one swift motion, Mikha removed her sunglasses, revealing eyes filled with a vulnerability Aiah had never seen before. "Aiah," she replied, her voice barely more than a breath. "I... care about you. More than I should."
Aiah's heart soared at the confession, her sadness melting away in the warmth of Mikha's gaze. "Then show me," she said, her voice steady with newfound resolve.
Mikha hesitated for a moment before leaning in, her lips capturing Aiah's in a kiss that was both tender and intense. The world around them seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of them, lost in the moment. The kiss was a promise, a declaration of feelings that had been hidden for too long.
As they pulled apart, Aiah rested her forehead against Mikha's, her heart racing with the exhilaration of newfound love. "Stay with me," she whispered, her voice filled with longing.
"Always," Mikha replied, her arms wrapping around Aiah in a protective embrace. The sun finally dipped below the horizon, leaving them bathed in the soft glow of twilight, a new beginning on the horizon.
