(No One's POV)
Olivia stormed away from the lake, her fists clenched in frustration. The warm summer air did little to soothe her anger as she marched toward the cabin, her mind swirling with the image of Colet and that other girl. How could Colet be so blind?
"Olivia, wait!" Colet called after her, her voice tinged with worry.
But Olivia didn't stop. She ignored Colet's pleas and quickened her pace, eager to get to the privacy of their cabin. She needed space, she needed to think, she needed to get away from the painful scene that had unfolded by the lake.
The summer camp had always been a special place for Olivia. She had spent many summers here, making friends, learning new skills, and enjoying the serene beauty of nature. This summer, however, had been different. She had met Colet, the camp's notorious flirt, and against all odds, they had fallen for each other. Colet had a reputation, but Olivia saw something deeper in her—a vulnerability and sincerity that Colet rarely showed to others.
As she reached the cabin door, her hand poised to push it open, she felt a firm grip on her shoulder. Colet spun her around, pinning her against the wooden wall of the cabin. Olivia's eyes blazed with fury as she glared at Colet, ready to unleash her wrath.
"Go back to her!" Olivia snapped, her voice dripping with venom. "Go back to the girl who's so obviously in love with you and who tried to kiss you!"
Colet's expression was one of shock and hurt, but she quickly composed herself. Before Olivia could continue her tirade, Colet cupped Olivia's face with both hands, her touch gentle yet firm. She pulled Olivia toward her, capturing her lips in a heated, desperate kiss.
The intensity of the kiss took Olivia by surprise. She gasped against Colet's lips, her anger momentarily forgotten as Colet's mouth moved against hers with a passion that left her breathless. Colet pushed them inside the cabin, the door slamming shut behind them.
The cabin was dimly lit, with just a small lamp on the bedside table casting a warm glow. Olivia's hands found their way to Colet's waist, gripping tightly as she responded to the kiss with equal fervor. Colet's hands slid from Olivia's face to her back, pulling her closer until there was no space left between them.
When they finally broke apart, both girls were panting, their foreheads resting against each other's. Colet's eyes were filled with determination and something else—something deeper, something raw.
"Olivia, listen to me," Colet said, her voice low and urgent. "That girl means nothing to me. You're the one I love. Only you."
Tears welled up in Olivia's eyes, the intensity of her emotions overwhelming her. "Then why didn't you push her away?" she whispered, her voice cracking.
"I was in shock," Colet admitted. "I didn't expect it, and I didn't know how to react. But the moment I saw the hurt in your eyes, I knew I had to make things right. I love you, Olivia. I only want you."
Olivia's tears spilled over, but she didn't pull away. She let Colet's words sink in, her heart aching with both the pain of the misunderstanding and the relief of hearing Colet's confession.
"I love you too," Olivia whispered, her voice trembling. "I'm just scared of losing you."
Colet's eyes softened, and she pressed another gentle kiss to Olivia's lips. "You're not going to lose me. We're in this together, okay?"
Olivia nodded, her hands relaxing their grip on Colet's waist. "Okay."
Colet smiled, wiping away Olivia's tears with her thumbs. "Good. Now, let's forget about everything else and just focus on us."
They sat down on the edge of the bed, holding hands. Colet's thumb traced soothing circles on Olivia's hand as they sat in silence for a few moments, the tension between them gradually dissipating. Olivia took a deep breath, feeling a sense of calm washing over her.
"You know," Olivia began, her voice soft, "I've always admired how confident you are. But sometimes, it's hard for me to deal with the attention you get from other people."
Colet nodded, understanding dawning in her eyes. "I get it, Liv. It's not easy, and I'm sorry if I've made you feel insecure. But I promise you, you're the only one who matters to me."
Olivia smiled, feeling a weight lift off her shoulders. "Thank you, Colet. That means a lot to me."
Colet leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to Olivia's forehead. "Anything for you, babe."
The two of them spent the rest of the evening wrapped in each other's arms, talking about everything and nothing. They reminisced about their time at camp, shared their dreams and fears, and laughed at silly inside jokes. The intimacy of the moment made Olivia realize just how much she cherished Colet and how much she wanted their relationship to work.
As the night wore on, they lay down on the bed, holding each other close. Olivia rested her head on Colet's chest, listening to the steady rhythm of her heartbeat. Colet's fingers gently stroked Olivia's hair, lulling her into a sense of peace.
"You know," Colet said softly, breaking the comfortable silence, "I think this is the best part of camp—being with you."
Olivia smiled, feeling a warmth spread through her chest. "I think so too."
They stayed like that for a while, savoring the quiet moments together. The moonlight filtered through the cabin window, casting a soft glow on their entwined forms. The world outside seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of them in their own little bubble of happiness.
Eventually, Olivia's eyelids grew heavy, and she let out a contented sigh. "I'm glad we talked, Colet. I feel a lot better now."
Colet kissed the top of Olivia's head. "Me too, Liv. We'll get through anything together, I promise."
As they drifted off to sleep, wrapped in each other's embrace, Olivia felt a sense of reassurance. No matter what challenges came their way, she knew they had each other's backs. And that was enough.
Summer camp had brought them together, and despite the bumps along the way, it had also made their bond stronger. Olivia couldn't wait to see what the future held for them, confident that as long as they had love, they could face anything.
The night ended on a serene note, with Olivia and Colet finding solace in each other's arms, ready to face a new day together.
