Jhoanna slipped into the dorm, carefully turning the knob to avoid making a sound. Her heart pounded in her chest, praying she wouldn't wake Gwen. She'd spent another night out with Colet and Mikha, and she knew Gwen wouldn't be pleased. She tiptoed down the hall, nearly at her bedroom door, when—

"Where were you?"

The low, disapproving voice cut through the silence like a blade. Jhoanna flinched, her breath catching in her throat. She slowly turned to see Gwen standing in the dimly lit living room, arms crossed, her expression hard and unreadable.

Jhoanna swallowed nervously. "W-with Mikha and Colet," she stammered, her voice small as she avoided Gwen's piercing gaze.

Gwen sighed heavily, shaking her head in disbelief. "Really? Partying again?" she asked, her voice cold and sharp. She stood up from the couch, brushing past Jhoanna as she made her way to her bedroom. The disappointment in her voice stung more than any angry words could.

"G-Gwen..." Jhoanna called after her, but Gwen didn't stop.

"Talk to me after you settle your damn self," Gwen said, her voice biting before closing her bedroom door with a decisive click. The sound echoed in the silence, leaving Jhoanna standing alone in the hallway, feeling the weight of Gwen's words settle heavily on her shoulders.

Jhoanna sighed, rubbing her tired face with both hands. The tension between them had been building for weeks now, ever since she started going out more with Mikha and Colet. Gwen had been distant, her icy demeanor replacing the warm and caring best friend she once knew.

Days passed, and the cold shoulder only grew more unbearable. At school, Gwen barely looked at her, and when she did, her gaze was filled with frustration. She ignored Jhoanna when she walked past her with Colet and Mikha, her disapproval palpable in every glance. Even when they were back at the dorm, Gwen avoided her, retreating to her room without a word.

It was driving Jhoanna mad.

One evening, after another night of being shut out by Gwen, Jhoanna finally snapped. She stormed into the dorm, determined to put an end to the silent war that had stretched on for far too long. She marched straight to Gwen's room and knocked, not waiting for a response before pushing the door open.

Gwen was sitting on her bed, reading, but she didn't even look up. The coldness in the air was suffocating.

"Why?" Jhoanna asked, her voice trembling with frustration. "Why are you so mad at me? What have I done that's so wrong?"

Gwen didn't answer. She kept her eyes on the book in front of her, her jaw clenched in silent defiance.

"Don't you dare ignore me again," Jhoanna warned, her tone desperate. "Every time I come home, you're angry. Every time I'm with Colet and Mikha, you act like I've committed some crime. Just tell me why! What did I do?"

Gwen stood up abruptly, her eyes finally meeting Jhoanna's. "What do you want me to say?" she snapped, her voice harsh. "That I'm tired of watching you become someone you're not? That I hate seeing you dragged into their mess?"

"They're my friends!" Jhoanna shot back. "Why can't you understand that?"

Gwen scoffed, shaking her head. "Friends? Since when did you start ditching all our plans for them? Since when did you start coming home late every night, barely saying a word to me? You've changed, Jho."

Jhoanna took a step closer, her chest heaving with anger. "So what? I can't have fun? I can't go out and enjoy my life without you constantly judging me?"
