As the wicked villainess dies, the Crown Prince and his companion, the holy priest, finally get married. Together, they create a new government where men marry other men.

Though the holy priest pleads for mercy, begging the prince not to kill all the women, the Crown Prince instead banishes them to another continent with nothing to survive on.

From that day on, no woman is seen in the country. Women cease to exist. And with that, they live happily ever after.”

Irene closed the book after finishing it.

“What a story… I can’t believe I wasted my time reading one of her books.”

She regretted picking up her roommate’s novel. She had been bored after finishing her assignment and decided to take a break by reading something her friend recommended.

At first, Irene almost gave up halfway through.

But when she realized it was a BL romance—a genre she had never read before—her curiosity kept her going.

Now that she had finished it, she deeply regretted it.

The story was far too brutal. She had nearly been unable to finish it.

Just then, her phone rang. She picked it up.

“Hi, Dad. Yeah… I’m about to head out now. No, I’ll see you there. Okay, see you later.”

She hung up, grabbed her jacket, and left her dormitory.

When she arrived at the train station, it was crowded.

She stood among the people, waiting for the train to arrive.

Irene glanced at her phone to check the time. Waiting for her father arrival.

Suddenly, a man snatched an elderly woman’s purse and ran.

“Hey, stop!”

“Catch him!”

A security guard immediately chased after the thief.

Irene noticed the elderly woman had fallen to the ground, yet no one stopped to help her.

Without hesitation, Irene rushed over.

“Here, let me help you.”

As she tried to pull the woman up amidst the crowd, someone bumped into her.

She lost her footing.

The elderly woman’s eyes widened as she saw Irene stumbling toward the edge of the platform.

Irene’s heart dropped.

“Tit! Tit! Tit!”

A train could be seen approaching in the distance.

Bang!

Everything went dark.

The last thing Irene thought of…was her father.

Darkness slowly faded into a blinding light.

“Milady, you’re finally awake.”

Irene blinked, her vision clearing to see a young girl beside her, looking worried.

“Wha…”

Her voice wouldn’t come out.

“Wait, milady.”

The girl gently lifted her and brought a cup of water to her lips.

After drinking, Irene felt her throat loosen and her mind slowly clear.

She looked around. The room was unfamiliar—old, almost antique.

“Where… am I?”

“You’re in your chamber, milady.”

“My chamber…?”

Irene tried to sit up, but a sharp pain shot through her head.

“You’ve just recovered from a high fever. Please take it slow.”

Irene turned back to the girl, as she glance at the girl weird attires.

“Who are you?”

“I’m… your maid, Libby,” the girl answered, though she looked confused.

“Don’t you remember?”

“My what now?”

“Your maid, milady. I’m Libby.”

Irene let out an awkward laugh.

“Haha… very funny. What are we, in the Victorian era? You must be new—just say you’re a nurse. I’m a medical student, I took that major. I remember falling onto the train tracks, so I probably hit my head pretty badly.”

“Medi… student? Major? What train tracks?” Libby frowned.

“I don’t understand what you’re saying. You were pushed into the pond by the Crown Prince—your fiancé. You almost drowned, but the guards saved you. The High Priest took pity on you, so the Crown Prince spared your life. You’ve been unconscious for three days.”

Hearing those familiar titles, Irene froze.

“High Priest? Fiancé? Crown Prince?!”

“Milady…?”

Irene’s eyes darted around until she spotted a mirror.

She rushed toward it.

The reflection staring back at her was a beautiful young woman with long, shimmering grey hair.

It wasn’t her.

“It can’t be…”

She lifted her hand—her reflection did the same.

“No…”

“Milady? Should I call a physician?” Libby asked nervously, worried that the fever had affected her mind.

“No!” Irene snapped.

Taking a deep breath, she forced herself to calm down.

“What’s your name again?”

“Libby, milady.”

“Okay, Libby. Listen carefully. Don’t tell anyone that I’ve regained consciousness. Tell them I’m still sick and need a few more days to rest.”

“But milady… your wedding is next week. There’s so much to prepare. You’ve been waiting for this moment for so long, so why—”

“That’s exactly why!” Irene cut her off, her voice rising.

Libby flinched.

Irene exhaled, trying to steady herself.

“Just do as I say. If anyone asks, tell them I need to rest. Do you understand?”

“Yes, milady,” Libby replied timidly.

“Good. Now leave me alone for a while.”

Libby nodded and quietly left the room.

Finally alone, Irene pressed her hands to her temples, trying to process everything.

Then, as if pulled by instinct, she rushed to the window and pushed it open.

What greeted her…

Was a world that did not belong to her time.
