"Everyone should die! Die! Just die!"

Irene jolted awake from her nightmare, gasping for air. Instinctively, she clutched the necklace around her neck, relieved to feel it still resting against her skin. Slowly, her racing heart began to calm.

Yet the image of Dacia-covered in blood, writhing in pain-lingered vividly in her mind.

Her grieves...

Her hate...

Her pain....

For some reason, Irene felt as though Dacia was drawing closer, as if she will able to take over her body and destroy everything in this world.

Fear gripped Irene's heart.

Will the curse repeat itself again?

That morning, Irene had no appetite.

Libby noticed that she barely touched her breakfast.

"Your Highness, are you feeling unwell? You barely even touched your food." she asked worriedly.

"I just....feeling a bit stuffy. Maybe I need something light for now....something sour or sweet," Irene replied quietly.

"Some fruit will be enough."

Just then, Sir Lawrence arrived.

He bowed respectfully before Irene.

"Your Highness..." he began, voice low but urgent.

He leaned closer and whispered something into her ear.

The moment Irene heard his report, her eyes turned cold.

Without another word, she rose to her feet.

A short while later, Irene boarded a carriage with Libby by her side. Several royal knights escorted them, with Sir Lawrence riding alongside.

They soon arrived at the Duke's estate.

Irene hurried inside, catching all the servants by surprise. Many of them were still cleaning up after the grand celebration the duke had held for his promotion two days earlier.

Although the palace was still mourning the late king's passing, after the coronation of the Crown Prince Nickolai as the new king, the duke had hosted a lavish celebration at his own estate.

Many nobles had attended the festivities.

Therefore, Irene's sudden arrival was completely unexpected.

Even the butler was stunned.

"Your Highness... this..."

Before he could continue, Irene interrupted him.

"Where is the duchess? I want to see her."

The butler became visibly anxious.

"Your Highness...the duchess seems to be occupied. Perhaps I should inform His Grace first-"

Ignoring him completely, Irene repeated firmly,

"Where is my mother?"

"Your Highness, I don't-"

Seeing the butler hesitation, Irene then turned toward the knights.

"Search the entire estate."

Her command stunned the butler and every maid present.

Just as the butler was about to inform the duke-

"Stop right there!" Irene commanded.

The butler froze in his tracks.
