Victoria

With a four-hour drive ahead of us, I wasted no time in getting comfortable in the SUV Zak had rented when he left from Las Vegas. The route we took was completely new to me as I hadn't gotten the chance to explore the new state I lived in. I was completely entranced by the scenery around me, making it hard to believe that I was actually here and that I was the one who made this happen for myself.

Occasionally, I would sneak a glance over at Zak, driving carefully through the snow that was consistently falling, being careful around every turn and keeping a great distance between us and the car in front of us. I had always hated riding in the passenger seat, but I felt safe with Zak driving. His presence alone made me feel warm and content inside, and I had noticed that he had changed a lot since the last time I saw him.

He carried the same personality with him that I knew, but he seemed to be not only more matured in his actions, but something about him had changed, and if I had to make a guess, he seemed to be accepting of what he worked with, as if he had a new wisdom about him now.

He seemed to be calmer than how I remembered him; more content.

"We should be there by midnight," Zak spoke, glancing over at me as I kept a thick blanket draped over my legs. "We'll get checked into the hotel and get some sleep."

"What do you guys usually do when you get to a new location early?" I asked. "I mean, you said that you're not filming until Wednesday."

"We always like to get somewhere a day early. We'll go around the town and be tourists for a day. Try the food, shopping, whatever we usually come across."

"I'm so excited! I do have a question, though."

"Go ahead."

"How much is the hotel? I mean I have money, but I just wanted to know so I can budget-"

He chuckled at me as if I asked him a stupid question, "Don't worry about it. I invited you, and I booked your room last night."

"Zak..."

"Don't Zak me," He chuckled. "I wanted you to come, so I booked your room. It's no big deal."

"Well, thank you, but I feel bad that you rented out a room for me for the entire week."

"Don't feel bad. You're my guest."

"Won't you get in trouble with the network for having an unapproved person with you?"

"They won't know because I didn't put your room on their account." He shrugged.

He used his own money to waste on me...

"What about the rental car?"

"They pay for the rental, yes, but they did for Aaron and Billy. I got this one off account." He shrugged.
