Victoria
I felt so happy to be a part of Zak's project and dream, watching this museum that was once an idea and plan turn into a thriving business. We had hired a lot of great candidates for tour guides who all got along and were a blast to work with, and I was proud to be a part of the hiring process.
We had been open for three full months now, managing to juggle our filming schedule, rodeos, and running this museum all at the same time, and I wasn't just proud of myself for my brain deciding to not give me any problems, but I was proud of Zak for managing the events added to his busy schedule.
"Miss Victoria?" Our new tour guide, Lacy, called to me from the doorway of the break room as I was restocking the fridge with plenty of water and snacks for our employees.
"Yes, ma'am?" I answered with a smile, hoping that my presence didn't make her feel nervous as it was her first week on the job.
"I-I know it's just my first week, but I noticed that the time off I told you about in my interview wasn't shown on the schedule and I wanted to know if I needed to reschedule?"
"Oh! No, ma'am. That was my fault. I have it written down, but I forgot to type it up on the schedule," I explained, taking the pen that I had in my pocked and writing OFF in the column where Lacy's name was on the schedule. "It was just this weekend, right?"
"Yes, ma'am. Thank you."
"No, thank you for reminding me. You wouldn't have gotten in trouble or anything, but Zak would've seen it and wondered if you were a no call/no show because he wasn't there when I interviewed you." I giggled.
She giggled in return, placing her lunchbox in the fridge before she put on her earpiece for her radio, "Thank you, Miss Victoria."
"You're welcome, sweetheart."
The business was running smoothly. Fans of his show had come from far and wide just to be here at his museum, and it was beautiful. I hoped he knew just how special he was knowing that people were flying from all over the country, and even oversees, to just see his museum. We had someone from Scotland yesterday!
I was so proud of Zak for what he's accomplished. I was still learning my way around the museum with all of the secret passageways to keep employees (and us) out of guest's sight while they're taking their tour, but I eventually found my way into the room where Zak resided, sitting in an office chair as he kept an eye on the multiple security cameras while he had to take a Zoom call with the network's producers about the upcoming season.
"Caught me just in time," he smirked, leaning back in his chair and resting his hand on my hip. "I knew you were coming."
"Learned how to watch me, did you?"
"Can you blame me?" He smirked, guiding me down to sit on his lap. "Gotta keep tabs on you all the time. Can't have you running away from me," He pressed a kiss between my shoulder blades through my shirt. "I'm just messing with you, sweetie."
