"Good things take time, but not when you keep running...
Zak stood at the mouth of the bridge with his first interviewee and fellow paranormal investigator, Becky, a sweet and down to earth north Texas woman who subtly reminded Zak of his own mother. She talked about her experiences with detail, enticing Zak's interest as he was beyond excited to investigate this place.
What they all didn't know was that Tori and Ashley were pushing their horses into a full gallop back to the trailer at the trailhead, both scared for their lives at what they had discovered.
"Whatever is here seems to target women more than men," Becky added. "We had another female investigator get scratched."
"We have two women on our crew right now. They're out riding the trails while we're doing these interviews."
"I'd be very surprised if they didn't experience anything while they were out." Becky nodded.
That thought in itself made Zak very angry and his senses on high alert knowing that he had to take his part to ensure everyone on his crew were safe, especially the women, especially Tori.
"Let's not tell the guys what we came across..." Ashley trailed off lowly as she helped Tori untack the horses and cool them off from their sprint for their lives. Immediately, Tori could tell that something was off with Ashley's behavior, but she could tell that she was still in shock, which was something they had in common at this moment. They were both on the brink of tears, but Ashley appeared to be struggling the worst with this.
"Why?"
"I don't want them to ask questions," She sighed. "I'm already shaken up about it, and I don't want to relive that right now."
"I understand that, but we should tell them because it involves all of our safety-"
"You don't get it, Tori, fuck!" Ashley lashed out. "I'm sorry. I just... I don't feel right."
"It's okay. What's going on?"
"I-I can't, Tori," She waved, patting Dallas on the side of her neck before she made her way towards the crew, holding the bill of her black ball cap between her fingers and using her bandana to wipe the sweat from her forehead.
"I guess I'll stay here with the horses..." Tori mumbled under her breath as she proceeded to put away Arson's saddle. I'm not leaving these horses here while we're filming. I'm taking them back to the horse hotel while they're doing interviews. Not like they'll need me soon anyway...

He felt his phone vibrate in his pocket, but he didn't think it would be a text from Tori as she never really texted or called when they were on site together, and he didn't have a spike of worry since he had seen Ashley return to where they were and stated that Tori was getting the horses comfortable.
After a few more minutes, Zak suddenly had a hard time ignoring the feeling in his chest. Scanning the area behind his sunglasses, the words from his new interviewee no longer had his attention after he spotted Ashley tucked behind some brush away from the group, "What is she doing? Jay?"
