When the next morning rolled around, I awoke to the sound of water, which was the waterfall that was falling into his pool just outside the window. And no, I didn't end up sleeping in Zak's bed with him. Though it was tempting, it didn't feel like the right time quite yet.
Zak had mentioned to me last night that Aaron and Billy would be meeting us at the restaurant on the Strip later in the evening, leaving Zak and I at the house to do whatever it was that he wanted. I had slept so soundly; I couldn't go back to sleep even if I wanted to. I felt recharged and so calm that I honestly dreaded the moment I had to leave.
I slept until about nine o'clock, which was unusual for me. After making my bed and brushing my teeth, I pulled my hair up before I made my way down the stairs to follow Zak's voice that echoed from below, and I couldn't help but listen to his conversation. I mean, it's not like I wouldn't have heard it anyway – his house was so big and his voice echoed throughout the entire house.
"I think she's still asleep right now, but I was going to take her out to one of my favorite spots for lunch if you wanted to meet me?"
"Okay, I'll text you when we're about to leave."
Gracie was the one to blow my cover as she rushed towards me, tail wagging and ears back as she came to sit at my feet. "Good morning, sweet angel." I smiled down at her.
"Look who's finally awake," Zak poked his head around the corner. "You hungry?"
"Not starving, but I can eat," I giggled, my heartrate increasing as he approached me. "What do you want to do today?"
"Well, Aaron is going to meet us for lunch, but we have a few hours before that. After we eat lunch, we were going to go out shopping before we go to dinner."
"Sounds fun. What about before?"
He smirked, and a part of me felt like he was going to say something suggestive, "I was hoping you'd want to have a little movie date with me?"
