The crew were now filming just northeast of Logan, Utah at St. Anne's Retreat - a haunted property where the Catholic Church hid nuns who had broken their vows. The energy there was heavy and looming - something dark that seemed to lurk just in the shadows. Zak felt as if he was being watched. Over the last few months, Tori seemed to be getting her senses back regarding her presumed gift to tap into the other side, and she had told Zak that this location wasn't a good idea.
But let's face it, almost all of their locations having to do with demonic activity were never a good idea.
In order to avoid the horrible pit in her stomach, she asked to stay at the hotel so that she could rid her anxious feeling and focus on arranging their upcoming trip to Indiana to film for Zak's project documentary: Demon House. as well as preparing to join an online interview with a music producer who had been trying to contact her for months regarding a record deal. The thought in itself was exciting, but she knew that deep down, she shouldn't accept it as releasing music was never her dream.
Rodeo was.
Karen Baldwin, a renowned psychic medium based in Salt Lake City, had arrived to the St. Anne's Retreat to meet Zak and his crew without any prior communication. Tori had arranged for Mrs. Baldwin to arrive on site and for her readings to be completely raw.
"It's very nice to meet you, Karen." Zak smiled as he shook her hand before keeping a hold of her hand as he guided her over the bridge that led to the retreat.
"Lovely to meet you, honey," The old woman smiled. "Ms. Victoria is a lovely woman."
Zak chuckled, "That she is."
"She has a gift that she refuses to open up to."
"I think she does, too."
"The accident caused it," She said confidently. How would she know that? Tori and I kept the accident very vague and private. Not even TMZ could get what exactly happened once I shared that Tori was coming home from the hospital. After Karen mentioned the accident, Zak immediately gestured to Aaron to keep an eye out for his "stop filming" gesture as he didn't want additional details of their relationship to be there for everyone to witness. It wasn't that he was "ashamed" of her - he just liked their relationship to be as private as possible. "When she had the accident involving her horse."
"Do you know what happened?" He knew that his question sounded rather ignorant, but he wanted to reassure himself of his skepticism when it came to psychics and how they could pick up on their readings without any prior knowledge. Considering that the show's fans who follow Zak closely are aware of Tori's accident, but not the exact details.
Even Zak himself didn't know the exact details - only what Tori remembers, so he himself was rather curious.
Karen stood with her eyes closed for a moment before replying, "Her horse got spooked by something he had be traumatized from before,"
Helicopter, Zak thought.
"She was trying to calm him. He reared and she was off balance. When she landed, he landed on her. I'm sensing it was a head injury or something to do with her upper body," She continued with her eyes closed. "I'm also sensing a smaller animal - maybe a dog? That was with her."
"Gracie," Zak answered with a warm grin at the thought that his beloved dog was the one who stayed with her. "My dog was with her when it happened."
Karen nodded, "I'm not really sensing anything else in particular, but I can say with certainty that her gift will return soon enough. She has to accept it, but there's something that I feel is keeping her back from that, and I can't quite put my finger on it yet."
