"Sweetie, can I talk to you about something?" Zak asked Victoria, taking a seat in the living quarters of her trailer, watching her make a quick snack for herself after he had politely declined.

"Anything, babe," She nodded, keeping her attention down on the cutting board below her. "What's up?"

"How are you feeling about work? Your day job?"

"I mean, it's manageable, but I'm starting to get burnt out. When I'm traveling on weekends, my sleep schedule is so messed up and I can't focus. Why do you ask?"

"I can tell you're getting burnt out. I think you're under a lot of pressure and I want to help with that."

"How so?"

"You don't have to give me a direct answer right now, but I've been thinking about it a lot. There was a position that the network wanted for our crew, and I think you'll be a perfect fit."

"What position, Zak?"

"A researcher and assistant. One who plans out our locations from set lists and recovers history about the area and the specific location."

"I thought Jay did that?"

"He does, but he's a full-time camera man and it's getting overwhelming for him to do research and operate a camera because he also helps Billy edit. If we narrowed it down to one person doing research so Jay isn't overwhelmed, it would be perfect."

"Okay, but that leaves me with a few questions of my own..."

"Go ahead."

"I need to know that if I do this, how will it affect my rodeo career? Is it a salary job or hourly job?"

He smirked, almost cocky in his answer, "Let's just say that you'd be comfortable for the rest of your life. With you, you'll have the option to work remotely."

"What else would I be responsible for aside from research?"

"Contacting witnesses for our interviews, scheduling them, booking hotels, renting SUV's, flights, and promoting our show by running our Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram."

She thought about it for a moment, tempted to take it because it was a new opportunity for her, but she couldn't help but worry about the what ifs. "Now for the most important question."

"Hm?"

"If I'm required to come to some locations with you, what happens with my horses at home?"

"Well, considering how important they are to you, you can work remotely until you feel comfortable enough, and I'll arrange an assistant for you to take care of them while you're away."
