To say I was tired was an understatement. After the past weekend, I was exhausted. Sam and I didn't cross back over into Utah until almost two a.m., and that was just crossing the state line, not counting the hour drive it took to get home and the other half hour it took to unload the horses, put hay in their stalls, and settle ourselves in for the night. I knew that if I went to sleep, I wouldn't wake up in time to start my shift, so I just pulled an all-nighter and would go to sleep after my shift was over.

Sam was snoring away in the spare bedroom, loud enough that I could hear him from my work area that I had set up downstairs, and I couldn't help but giggle knowing that I couldn't remember the last time I heard him snore. I called him a princess because he was more feminine than me, but I loved him for it.

Being exhausted like this was worth it, though. I had a great time performing at the rodeo and singing for the first time on stage, really coming out of my turtle shell. I got to do three things I love: competing, singing, and spending time with the one man I missed more than I thought I did.

For the second time in a row, I was planning on leaving for the weekend, leaving on Friday morning and coming back Sunday evening, and Sam was eager to ask me if he could stay at my house and look after the horses for me in exchange for having a warm house to stay in and a hot shower.

Zak had invited me to Las Vegas this weekend to celebrate his birthday with him as his birthday falls on Saturday. That as well as celebrating Aaron's birthday as it was tomorrow, planning for a big dinner out on the Strip with him and the guys.

How could I say no to that?!

They were granted that weekend off to celebrate their birthdays before going to their next location next week, so I was grateful that he wanted me to come and celebrate with him.

When five thirty rolled around, I had planned to make a bowl of popcorn, take a shower, then rot away in my bedroom to watch a movie as that combination always puts me to sleep.

But leave it to Zak to call me randomly instead of texting like he usually does, but I'm not complaining. "Hello?"

"How are you?"

"Tired. Not gonna lie. I haven't gone to bed since Sam and I got back. You caught me making a bowl of popcorn."

He chuckled, "Well, I'm glad you answered. I wanted to talk to you about something."

"Okay..."

"So, you're planning on coming to Vegas this weekend, right?"

"Yes, unless you changed your mind."

"Not at all. Since I invited you, I don't want you to spend your own money on diesel and put wear and tear on your truck just to plow down half of Vegas to see me," He teased. As usual. "I was going to ask you when you were planning on leaving so I can get everything in order here."
