The bay near the ruins of the capital of Paganda

A hastily constructed harbor in a former traditional fishing port looks strange in the middle of a poor fishing village. However, the harbor boasts a comprehensive range of facilities, such as load/unload facilities for ships, fuel storage for ship oil, gasoline for small engines like boat motors or cars, and aircraft fuel. There is also a berth for light repair work on destroyer-class ships.

In addition to the newly constructed harbor, a number of fishing boats can still be seen in the old traditional fishing port. However, the condition of the ships suggests that they have not sailed for a long time. The same applies to the houses around the harbor. The majority are either vacant or transformed into military barracks.

Several freighters, clearly belonging to the military due to their numerous weapons and Gra Valkas flag, were anchored in the harbor or near it. In the middle of the bay, there were a number of large warships, consisting of three battleships and two aircraft carriers, escorted by a number of escort ships, mostly destroyer-class. There were only two cruisers visible. Two destroyers were always on patrol at the bay's mouth. All the ships were flying the Gra Valkas flag.

Right now, as the noon break approached, the activities in the harbor were at their peak. People were working quickly to complete their tasks so they could have a chance to eat and relax. Therefore, the harbor and all the ships seemed to be quite busy.

Suddenly, the people working on the ships, especially those in the center of the bay, saw two flames soaring from the mouth of the bay. The flames' brightness outweighs the bright sunlight.

"See what that is?" said an XO of one of the cruisers, pointing to one of the flames.
The captain of the cruiser and a number of people immediately used their binoculars to see what was happening.

"My god, it's our two destroyers! They're exploding like crazy. It looks like their magazine exploded!" said someone on the cruiser.

"There's no way two destroyers guarding this bay could have their magazines explode at the same time. This means there's an attack! All hands go to battlestation!" ordered the captain of the cruiser.

"Engine room, prepare for emergency maneuvers!" the XO ordered through one of the mouthpieces.

The battlestation alarms sounded in the cruiser. The ships of Gra Valkas also issued battlestation alarms, one after another.

Gra Valkas Orion Class Battleship 'Phnol'

Battleship 'Phnol' was the flagship of all the ships in Paganda. Actually, according to the schedule, they only stayed 2 days in Paganda before being replaced by a different group of ships, to return to Gra Valkas. This was because they had been in Paganda for more than 3 months. However, the Gra Valkas' complete defeat in the Mu Empire attack, prevented this from happening. They were stuck in Paganda.

Rear Admiral Klaso was the leader of the Gra Valkas fleet in Paganda. He was an old Rear Admiral, approaching retirement age. Because of his age, he was given the easy but prestigious job of guarding a newly conquered area. Although the danger level was considered to be quite low, sporadic attacks from the remaining Paganda forces were still ongoing, requiring a leader with combat experience.

Admiral Klaso was currently standing on the Portuguese bridge to the left of the main bridge, observing the surrounding conditions and catching some wind as soon as he became too tired to remain inside the main bridge.
