Before the story, I want to make an announcement. I have put the final draft of the next chapters (Up to part 10 Chapter 1) on another site, namely at:

https://karyakarsa.com/robotechmania/series

I have put it in two languages, Indonesian and English. Sorry, I charge a small fee to read it, it is around 30 cent US$. I will try to provide at least 30 chapters in advance to be read there.

Please support my writing, I'm getting desperate because only very few of the reader go thare and buy the upcoming chapter. If there is a problem to pay in that site. Please tell me in the conversation.

Japan, Tokyo

Friday, October 20, 2023

On Friday, October 20, 2023, it was a sunny day in Tokyo, Japan. Although the temperature has started to drop because it is approaching winter, it is still warm enough to be able to do activities as usual outside. Moreover, with the decline of Covid-19 cases in Japan (see Figure 1), people have been able to do their normal activities. Likewise, tourism has begun to revive. Although since 2019 Japan has implemented a sayonara tax of 1000 Japanese yen, it has not dampened the desire of people from other countries to come to Japan. Moreover, the end of the COVID outbreak has caused a surge in air travel and tourism around the world.

Since it was Friday, the last day of the week, offices were busier than other days. Everyone is working hard because they want to enjoy their weekend vacation the next day. In addition, many tourist attractions were full, such as Sensō-ji temple in Asakusa or the Hachiko statue in Shibuya. Even the famous Shibuya intersection has started to fill up with people crossing in all directions.

The whole of Tokyo went about its business as usual, not knowing what would happen in the next few hours.

Japan, Yokosuka.

United States Fleet Activities Yokosuka

This military base houses a portion of the 7th fleet, in addition to U.S. Fleet Activities Sasebo. It is where the main combat ships of the 7th fleet are located, namely Carrier Strike Group Five, Destroyer Squadron 15, and the flag ship USS Blue Ridge. Currently all the components of the 7th fleet were in place as there was no order for deployment, even a submarine normally based in Guam was here.

This unusual status provided an opportunity for personnel to engage in joint exercises and training evolutions, enhancing readiness while fostering camaraderie among the crews. Additionally, the base served as a crucial logistical hub, ensuring that supplies and support were readily available should the need arise.
