Part 9. Chapter 2. Encounter at Principality of Qua Toyne

Navy Command Center.
3 months after Gra Valkas Capitulation

Maihark has been an important port city of the Principality of Qua Toyne since ancient times. Especially since the existence of diplomatic relations with the Myto Empire, this city is one of the main port cities where ships heading to and from Yogyakarta, Terminus, Myto Empire will dock if their destination is the Principality of Qua Toyne. Therefore, the city is heavily guarded by the military forces of the Principality of Qua Toyne. The air base housed several squadrons of F-1 Fighters, while a number of Cosmos-class destroyers and a Universe-class light cruiser, serving as the flagship, protected the sea. In addition, radar installations also protected the port city for several hundred kilometers out to sea, as radar installations were placed not only on the mainland but also on a number of islands around Meihark.

All of this is under the command of the navy, which has placed a command center there. Therefore, no pirate ship or other armed vessel would dare to approach Meihark.

The navy's command center is located a few kilometers outside the town of Meihark, in a bunker located under a hill. The command center is manned 24/7. The command center is currently commanded by colonel (marine) Mayari, one of the first female senior military officers to be assigned to command an important military installation in the Principality of Qua Toyne.

At the moment, everything seemed normal at the command center. There was no traffic at sea or in the air that didn't fit into the schedule. But that was about to change.

"Colonel, the radar has detected an aircraft approaching Meihark at a fairly high speed, although it is not the speed of a jet." A tactical officer said.

"What is its speed, and where is it coming from?" asked colonel Mayari, who happened to be in the room and was talking to the shift chief, major Andran.

"Speed 550 km per hour. Direction from the north. Distance 140 km from Meihark. The direction is not the same as the direction of the Myto Empire if they fly straight towards us." The tactical officer said

"Where are they coming from? There is no large landmass in their direction." Major Andran said while looking at the tactical map.

"Contact them, use all the languages we know." Colonel Mayari ordered.

"Yes, sir." The tactical officer said.

"That plane is too fast for our F-1s. How can we intercept them?" asked major Andran.

"We can only drive them away. Contact our air force, tell them that they need to dispatch a squadron to intercept unidentified flying objects." Colonel Mayari said.

"Yes, colonel." An officer said.

"Inform the air force of the speed of the unidentified aircraft. They can arrange what needs to be brought in to maximize the speed of our F-1s." Colonel Mayari said.
