Chapter 34

Sunday Morning.

Ashley woke up around 10am in the morning. She felt very tired because yesterday being Saturday was the day Lily arrived. riley had followed her to Lily's house to help them settle in. Lily lived far from Ashley. She was Corkie's neighbour. They wasted so much time that Lilianna had to come over and pick up both Ashley and Riley.

Ashley went downstairs and entered the kitchen. Her mom was frying pancakes for breakfast.

"Morning mom."

"Morning." Her mom replied then switched off the cooker.

Ashley sat on one of the kitchen stools while her mom handed her a plate of pancakes.

"Thanks mom."

She sat next to her. "I guess you'll be hanging out with Riley and Lily today."

"I haven't heard from them yet but until I do yes."

"Ok. But be back early." Her mom said and stood up leaving the kitchen.

Ashley finished eating then went up to her room and quickly face-timed Riley and Lily.

"Hey." Ashley said as soon as they answered.

"Hi."

"Yeah, so where do we meet up?" Lily asked. "Remember our plans?"

"There was an ice cream place my mom took me to once. We could go there." Ashley suggested.

"What's the name of the place?" Riley asked.

"Umm... Pete's ice cream parlour."

"Must it be Ice cream?" Lily asked

"They also serve smoothies plus it's a good place to sit and talk."

"Works for me. See you there." She said.

"How will you get there? You don't even know the place." Riley asked.

"I've been to LA before remember. Plus, if i forget I have a GPS." Lily replied rolling her eyes.

"Great see you guys in an hour." Ashley said and ended the call. Then she quickly freshened up and wore a white shirt with an image of spongebob imprinted at the front. then wore black jeans with her sneakers.

As she went downstairs, she heard her mom talking to someone. At first she thought she was talking over the phone until she heard another woman's voice. She immediately rushed down stairs and saw her mom sitting on the couch with another woman sitting opposite her.

"Mom." She said then looked at the woman who sat opposite. Brown eyes with brown shoulder length hair. She looked pretty even in her age. Wait a minute.... She was the woman that had wanted to meet her mom at the grocery store.

"Good day." Ashley said.

"Hello." The woman said smiling at her.

"Ashley are you going out?" Her mom asked.

"Yes mom."

"Lili could you get the orange juice. I'm sure it's cold now." The woman said. Lili. Were they close?

Her mom looked hesitant leaving both of them together. "Umm... sure. I'll get it Julie."

So her name was Julie. Immediately her mom left the room, Ashley didn't want to waste time, she knew her mom would be back soon and wanted to know if she could get any information from her.

"Hey can I get your number?" She asked handing her phone to her.

Julie looked at her and shrugged collecting it. "Well sure."
