Chapter 40

"You're back." Leah said when she saw them walk in with the police. Olivia, Riley, Lily and Valerie looked up too.

"Yes." Raymond replied putting his hands in his pocket.

"You didn't find her?"

"We only found this." Julie said showing them the phone.

"That's Ashley's phone." Riley said taking the phone from her. Lily glanced at Olivia briefly.

"I thought you found her location John?" Leah asked.

"Me too." Valerie added.

"I'm stiil not able to understand how the kidnappers cleared her out before we arrived." John said.

Lily cleared her throat. "May I have the honor of answering that question?"

"Is it now Lily?" Riley asked whispering. Valerie looked at her too.

"Of course it's now. When else?" Lily whispered back then looked back at John with a nervous chuckle. Everyone was looking at her now.

"Lily what do you want to say?" Julie asked.

"I know who kidnapped Ashley." She said looking at their faces. "It's Olivia."

Lilianna and Julie didn't look the least surprised.

"What rubbish are you saying?" Olivia asked standing up.

"This is a very big accusation miss." One of the police officers said.

"You do realize you need to have..." Lily cut John short.

"I have proof."

"What nonsense?" Olivia said. "Kids like you shouldn't be causing trouble."

"Excuse me Miss Danvers. I said I have proof." Lily said then looked at John.

"While you were busy this morning trying to track Ashley's location, Olivia slipped away and no one noticed. I told Valerie I wanted to use the restroom and followed her to one of the guest room here downstairs."

"And what are you trying to say?" Olivia asked.

"That you kidnapped Ashley obviously. Apparently you have an accomplice."

"Where's your proof miss?" The cop asked her.

Lily brought out her phone and played a recording.

"Yes yes." They all heard Olivia's recorded voice from Lily's phone. "I sent a message to them to change her location and at leaast leave the phone there." She paused. Then they heard her voice again. "Richard thinks having bodyguards follow them would keep them safe, lucky enough one of his men works for me."

The recording ended. Lilianna moved to sit down.

The cops moved towards Olivia cuffing her immediately. "You're coming with us."

"I don't understand this. It's all a ploy. They don't like me." She said.

"Make sure to check her phone." Valerie said giving her phone to John.

"Richard what about Sarah. How would she feel?" Olivia said. "Please you can't let them take me away."

"I forgave you the first time. I won't again. I'll explain to Sarah myself. You'll get the divorce papers soon."

The cops took Olivia away. John followed.

Richard moved towards Lilianna. "She'll be home soon."

"Thank you." She said.

"Thank you Lily." He said looking at Lily.

"Ashley's my friend. Plus, Riley and I knew it was Olivia we just needed proof."

"You're really smart." Leah said.

"Thank you." Lily smiled.
