The next day Ashley, Riley and Sarah were standing in the hallway waiting for Corkie and Lily to arrive. Cole and Roy walked up to them.
"Hey guys." Cole said.
They smiled at him. "Hi."
"It's been a while." Roy said.
"So how was the presentation last Friday?" Cole asked.
"It was... ok." Ashley replied.
Cole was about to speak when a voice spoke from behind him.
"Hey everyone."
They turned to see Lily and Corkie. Ashley smiled and moved towards Lily.
"Guys, meet Lily. My best friend from New York." She said. "Lily meet the rest of my friends, Sarah, Cole and Roy."
"Hey Lily." Sarah said.
"Hi." Cole and Roy said.
"Nice to meet you all."
"So which class are you in?"
"Oh, I haven't met the principal yet."
"It's true. I'll take you." Ashley said. "See you guys later."
They walked away and walked toward Mrs Smith's office.
"Good morning." Ashley and Lily said in unison.
"Good morning. I see you brought the new student."
"Yes ma'am."
"So sit down." The woman said and they both sat down. Once they were seated, she began typing on her computer.
"Lily Roberts. You're joining us late. Exam's begin in a month's time. Can you cope?"
"Yes I can." She replied.
"Ok." Then she continued typing on her Laptop. "Ashley your class still has empty seats the other one is filled up. So Lily, you'll be in Ashley's class. That ok?"
"Yes." She agreed.
Then she clicked on her mouse and the printer on the other side of the room began whirring. She stood up and walked towards it. Then collected the two printed papers and walked back to her chair.
"Ashley here, this is your class list. When the first teacher comes in give this to whomever."
Ashley took it. It was a comprehensive list of her class arranged alphabetically.
"Ok. Thank you ma'am." Ashley said and they both stood up leaving the office.
As they walked down the hallway to class, Ashley started reading out the list. Amber Caldwell, Ashley Kim.... She continued until she reached Lily's name.
"There's your name. Lily Roberts." Ashley said. Her eyes scanned the remaining names then stopped on the name after Riley's name. Lily noticed she had stopped walking and moved back to meet her.
"What's wrong?" Lily asked
"Look at this. The name after Riley. Sarah.... Whitlock."
"What's wrong? Isn't that her last name?"
"No. We know her as Sarah Danvers."
"Then why would she lie?"
"If it's so then is it possible she's Valerie's sister or cousin. The other baby in the picture."
"I dunno. But hold on, what picture?" Lily asked.
Ashley shook her head. "Never mind. I'll explain later. Let's get to class."
"Ok."
Ashley and Lily rushed to class immediately. The teacher was already in class when they arrived. Ashley gave the teacher the list and went to her seat while the teacher introduced Lily.
Lilianna was in her office when Sarah told her that there was a woman waiting to see her. Thinking it was Julie, told Sarah to let her in, then continued going through the files on her table. A few minutes later the door opened.
"Hello Anna." The woman said.
Lilianna froze. That voice, she hadn't heard in 15 years. She looked up to see the woman who had once ruined her once happy life. Olivia.
"Olivia."
"Oh, so you remember. My my." Olivia said.
"Why are you here? You got what you wanted right?"
"Life has been good until you came back here two months ago. I want you gone."
"No way. I'm here to stay. My parents don't even know that I'm back in LA. I've been hiding ever since. I'm not going back Olivia."
Olivia sighed. "I knew I should have shot you that day but I ended up threatening you." Then she placed her palm on her forehead. "Why so stupid Olivia."
"Please just leave my office Olivia."
"No I won't." Olivia said. "You and your daughter better pack up and leave this state. Otherwise I won't be afraid to resort to old tricks."
Lilianna looked at her shocked. "I'm not afraid of you anymore. Leave Olivia. And stay away from my daughter."
Olivia glared at her with a wicked glint in her eyes. "We'll see about that Lilianna." She said and stormed out of the office.
Lilianna sank into her seat with a heavy sigh. Then she picked up her phone and dialled Julie's number.
"Hello Julie. If you're free could you please come over."
"What happened?"
"Olivia."
"I'll be there immediately." The line went dead.
