Lola scoffed as I skipped into the kitchen "why are you practically floating around here?" I just smiled at her, humming as I popped my bread in the toaster."Ohhhhh" she winked and began thrusting against the island. "Since you and Luke are back on track you're getting some."
I squealed , turning to look for Jacob, and blew out a sigh of relief when I realised he was nowhere to be seen. I swung back to Lola with a smug grin across my face.
She held her head back and laughed, telling me how happy she was for me, and how Luke seemed to bring out the best in me. As I walked back up to my room, I couldn't help but smile to myself. She was right. He did.
It's funny to think that I always considered Luke The only boy I can't have, yet he was sprawled out on my bed.
He groaned when he saw the size of my breakfast. I thought I had done well? 3 pieces of toast and cereal for us to share - but apparently that was nowhere near enough.
"Beautiful are you trying to starve me." He asked bluntly.
Rolling my eyes I replied "don't be so silly Luke" and gasped as he ate the toast in 2 bites.
"Well I would have been able to get my own breakfast and not eat yours if you would just let me go downstairs" he mumbled.
Narrowing my eyes I reminded him "exescue me mr stroppy but your best friend could be home any minute and see you looking like a state and me looking equally one and he would but two and two together and he would hate us and and and"
The words came out of my mouth as word vomit. Panic racked through me and Luke wrapped his arms round me.
"Shhhh it's okay" he rocked me back and forth until I was calm again.
"Look - Jacob loves you more than anything and I'm his best friend - it will take time but he will just have to adapt - are you sure you want to tell him Friday?" I nodded in reply.
It was his birthday in June and I didn't want to ruin the whole month and he would be more betrayed if we didn't tell him sooner rather than later. So may was the perfect option. And even though I said Friday, I knew if I chickened out I would have some time to 'woman' up. As my mother would say.
Luke ran his fingers through my hair "okay baby, we go at your pace" he chuckled lightly as I swerved my head round to plant a kiss on his nose.
Jacob had always been there for me through thick and thin, I needed, no we needed to tell him soon. I couldn't betray the person I loved most in the world.
***********
FRIDAY
Ollie, Mia, Lola and I were sat in our favourite coffee shop.
Ollie and Mia were bickering about something or other and Lola was rolling her eyes at them both.
Normally Lola was right in there with all the drama. But she was equally nervous about how Jacob would react tonight.
"Guys" I interrupted the chaos, everyone turned to me, awaiting for me to talk. I sipped my vannila latte awkwardly before spilling all my words out.
"Imwithlukeagainandimtellingjacobtonightatollieandmiasthing"
Ollie and Mia's jaws fell to the floor.
"What!" They said in unison
"I know" I groaned my cheeks going red "but I really like, no I really love him guys but I don't want it to be at the cost of Jacob."
