Jacob had packed 6 bags and I was the poor sucker helping him pack him car
"Fucking hell Jacob why have you packed so much" I growled

"Wow. Really nice Luke. I'm going to New York for 3 months and that's all you have to say?" Jacob joked sassily.

"Whatever bro" I pushed his shoulder.

"I will miss you though" I told him quietly

"Sorry what was that?" Jacob cupped his ear taking the piss and I shoved him away laughing.

Somebody sighed loudly behind us.
It was Eleanor's friend Lola who I'm sure Jacob was inlove with.

"Wills" she said and I could have sworn there was a note of sadness in her voice.

"Pearce - try not the get in too much trouble while I'm away" he winked at her.

"I'll try but I make no promises - ELEANOR GET YOUR CUTE BUTT DOWN HERE"

Eleanor emerged from the house in low rise jeans and a baggy knitted jumper - looking as gorgeous as always.

She shot me a cheeky smile before jumping into her brothers arm.

"Enjoy your course thing with all your fellow nerds" she giggled after Jacob released her.

"Shut up" Jacob playfully pushed the back of her head.

Coach wasn't happy about Jacob's sudden declared absence - he was convinced Jacob would pursue a career in the NHL even though we always told him otherwise.

As we watched Jacob pull out of the driveway and disappear into the distance I felt a sudden pang in my heart - it's my first time going to be a at 'school' without him since middle school.

Trailing behind Eleanor and Lola into the house I cleared my throat trying to break the awkward silence we had created in the kitchen.

"Okay so you sleep on the sofa or Jacob's bed whatever you want Friday to Sunday - simples"
Lola instructed while I watched Eleanor push herself up onto the kitchen counter.

"SHIT" Lola shrieked "babe I've got to go I have a job interview in the mall and I am supposed to be there now" she pressed her face against Eleanor's and gave me a rushed wave before running out the door.

The silence left between the two of us was loud.

"So any plans?" Eleanor asked.

I walked over to her and I was standing over her tiny frame. She shivered as I placed my right hand on her hip and cupped her chin with my left.

Eleanor's pink, juicy lips looked so delectable and her eyes wide as she looked up at me.

I placed a soft delicate kiss on her lips before going back for more.

This kiss was different. Equally as passionate but this one was slow and sweet. Taking our time to taste each other. My tongue going deeper and deeper with each thrust.

We both pulled away taking a breath and a moment.

"Eleanor... I like you" I told her, my positions on her body unchanging.

"I think I like you too" she replied softly.

Panic flashed her eyes and she pushed me away harshly. "No this can't happen I'm sorry luke" and she jumped down from the counter.

I pulled her back towards me "why Eleanor" the hurt obvious in my voice.

"This doesn't just concern us okay? It's our friends, our - our families" she stuttered

"And I mean god most of all Jacob!" She exclaimed "our actions affect everyone else"

"Beautiful, listen to me, I'm sure they would be more than happy for us!" I was practically begging her.

"No im sorry Luke" and she was gone.

My heart broke.

The petite blonde who ruled my every thought had just turned me down to be kind to our family and friends. It's her weakest and strongest strength.

I couldn't be here.

I had to leave.
