Draco and Lucius were out, so it was just Narcissa and I. The guys don't stay at the manor during summer break. 

"Here's your tea my dear."
"Thank you."

We sat on the sofa.

"Is there anything you wanna talk about regarding the baby. I'm sure I can answer some questions." Said Narcissa.

"How difficult was it with a newborn?
Be honest." I said.

Narcissa laughed and nodded.

"It was one of the hardest, but one of the best times of my life. For me it was particularly difficult because Lucius is a working man.

Sometimes men work half time when they have a newborn, but Lucius had a business to uphold.

So it was always me up with Draco at night. Lucius worked incredibly long hours, so he needed his sleep."

"What about during the day?" I asked.

"Lucius was out most of the day, so it was only me. That's what made it so hard. My family visited once a week. In fact it was only my parents, I'm not in contact with my sisters."

"I'm sorry."

"I was alone during the day. And it was difficult, but it was also very joyful. I really got to connect with Draco, and I loved every second.

It didn't matter if I was tired, anxious, frustrated, in fact if I ever felt overwhelmed I'd hold Draco and he'd ease me." She said.

"He has that effect on people." I chuckled.

"He does. That's part of the reason Draco and I are so close now. Draco never had one of those "I hate my parents" teenager phase.
He's always been respectful, and loving."

"Awww."

"But even though Lucius worked all day, if I ever needed him he'd be here. There were some days I just couldn't do it, so Lucius would stay home with Draco and I." She said.

"I guess it's gonna be different for me.
Draco's always gonna be here." I said.

"It'll be much easier. You not only have Draco, but you have family." Said Narcissa.

"When did Lucius and Draco bond? I'm sure once Lucius came home he was pretty tired."

"On the contrary. When Lucius came home he'd happily rush over to Draco. He'd get time alone with him as I worked around the house."

"When did Mattheo come in the picture?
I know you guys raised him too." I said.

"Mattheo came when he was ten. One day Lucius was doing something for the lord, and Mattheo came wandering in.

Lucius discovered he was being raised by servants, and that he was neglected.
He mentioned this and my heart broke.

So Mattheo was brought to the manor, and I took care of him. Him and Draco were such troublemakers." Laughed Narcissa.

"I can imagine. Little Draco and Mattheo, running around the house." I laughed.

Suddenly the front door opened.

Draco walked in with Lucius, and there was a black wrap on his arm.

"What happened?" I said.

"I got this huge cut on my arm, we had to go to the doctors." Said Draco.

"Are you okay?" I asked.
"Let's unwrap it."

Draco sat next to me, and Narcissa stood next to Lucius.
