~1981 December 31st~

{Elijah}

I smiled as I watched Staci run around and play with Lizzy and Evan in the snow. I liked seeing her being happy as a kid, not weighed down by the constant stress. I felt someone sit down next to me, and looked over at Micheal. He looked at me, and smiled. "That's something I don't see often." I tilted my head. "What?" He patted my head gently. "Your smile. I don't see it often. You should do it more, y'know?" I looked at him for a few moments, then looked back towards Staci. Micheal followed my gaze, and we kind of just sat there for a bit. I'd opted to take Staci here, because she deserved an actual NewYear party. A happy one. Plus, I doubted dad would mind much. Mom was the one who planned the events for me and Staci anyway. I felt a gentle gloved hand hold onto mine. I looked over towards Micheal, who was already looking at me with a smile. He then lifted up two masks. His Foxy mask, and my Ennard mask. I looked at it. I thought I'd lost it or my dad had just taken it. "You left this at my house a while back, when you stayed over-" He laughs a bit.

I looked at it for a moment, and smiled softly.. "Thank you..." Micheal smiled back at me. "Hey, don't worry about it. I wouldn't ever let anything happen to it." I felt his hand touch mine gently. Before I could look up at him, his gaze was back onto our siblings playing with each other. "The moon is beautiful tonight, isn't it?" I glanced up at the moon, which was just peeking out from behind the trees in the forest by the Afton's yard. I stared for a moment, before nodding.

"Elijah, one day, very far from this, I want something like this."

I furrowed my brows, and looked at him. "What-?" Micheal quickly turned his head away from me, and pulled his hand off mine. "Nothing-!" I continued to look at him, then laughed softly. He glanced at me, and laughed a bit too.

"Maybe Evan, Liz, and Staci will still be friends in the future- I doubt they'll play like this though!" I joked. Micheal went a bit quiet, and looked back at them as they played.

"..Yeah..."
