Chapter Ten: Chamber of Secrets

The summer was over and Carlisle and Esme had taken me to Diagon Alley to get what I needed and after doing so, I bumped into Draco before noticing someone walk up behind him, “who might you be?” he asked me, “Rosella sir.” I said to him, “ah, Draco has told myself and his mother all about you. He wouldn’t stop.” he said to me and I smiled a little before his father and my parents had gotten acquainted before Draco and I had walked into the bookstore nearby and looked around, “so what did you do over the summer before we spent the other day together?” he asked me, “nothing much really, just spent the summer doing my own thing and hanging out with my siblings.” I told him before we noticed something going on and saw a man walk out from a back room, “who is that?” I asked Draco, “Gilderoy Lockhart, he’s a famous author. He just released a new book. A bit of a tosser if you ask me.” he said to me as Gilderoy was speaking to everyone as we stood above them watching over before Harry was brought to the front and stood next to him and a picture was taken of the both of them before Gilderoy spoke up, “ladies and gentleman what an extraordinary moment this is. When young Harry stepped into Flourish and Blotts this morning to purchase my Autobiography, Magical Me, which incidentally is currently celebrating it’s 27th week atop the Daily Prophets best seller list. He had no Idea that he would in fact be leaving with my entire collected works free of charge.” Gilderoy said to everyone before he started signing stuff and both Draco and I made our way down the stairs before we noticed Harry and the others making their way out of the store before Draco walked in front of them and I stood off to the side “I bet you loved that didn’t you Potter? Famous Harry Potter. Can’t even go into a bookshop without making the front page.” Draco said to him, “Draco, leave them be.” I said as I walked up to him, “leave him alone.” a girl said to him, “oh look Potter, you’ve got yourself a girlfriend.” Draco said before his father came in, “now, now Draco play Nicely.” he said before the both of u stepped off to the side before seeing Carlisle and Esme walk in not long after, “Mr. Potter. Lucius Malfoy we meet at last. Forgive me but your scar is legend as, of course, of the Wizard who gave it to you.” he said to Harry, “Voldemort killed my parents. He was nothing more than a murderer.” Harry said to him, “you must be very brave to mention his name or really foolish.” he said to Harry, “fear of a name only increases fear of the thing itself.” Hermione said to Lucius, “and you must be Miss. Granger. Yes, Draco’s told me all about you and your parents. Muggles, aren't they?” he said to him before he spoke to the Weasley’s, “let me see, red hair. Vacant expressions. Tatty second hand book. You must be the Weasley’s.” Lucius said to them before a man walked up to them, “Children, it’s mad in here. Let’s go outside.” he said to them, “well, well, well Weasley Senior.” Lucius said to him, “Lucius.” Mr. Weasley said, “busy time at the Ministry, Arthur? All those extra raids. I do hope they’re paying you overtime. But judging by the state of this, I’d say not. What’s the use of being a disgrace to the name of Wizard if they don’t even pay you well for it.” Lucius said to Mr. Weasley, “I think we have a very differentIda about what disgraces the name of Wizard Malfoy.” Mr. Weasley said to him, “clearly. Associating with Muggles. And I thought your family could sink no lower.” Lucius said to him and there was a moment of silence before Lucius spoke up again, “I’ll see you at work.” he said to Mr. Weasley before he left, “I’ll see you at the station.” Draco said to me before he walked up to the other’s, “I’ll see you at school” he said to them before leaving with his father and after a while, I continued getting what I needed for school before making my way to the train.

By the time I made it to the train with Carlisle and Esme, I soon met up with Draco and the both of us got on together after I said goodbye to Carlisle and Esme and both Draco and I sat down with Crabbe and Goyle and I began to think about what had happened earlier in Diagon Alley before I was brought out of my thought’s when I heard someone calling my name and saw that it was Draco, “what are you thinking about?” he asked me, “nothing important.” I said to him and we continued to talk throughout the rest of the train ride. We finally made it to the Castle and after walking inside both Draco and myself made it to the Common Room and got changed for dinner before making my way to the Great Hall for dinner with Draco and the other’s and by the time we had gotten there, we all sat down before the Sorting Ceremony had started and after it was over, Dumbledore spoke up to everyone about things before beginning the feast and we all started eating and I spent the entire time talking to Draco the entire time. After dinner was over, everyone started leaving the Great Hall and I eventually made it to the Common Room with Draco and the other’s before I wanted to ask Draco about earlier today and I sat down next to him, “can I talk to you about something?” I asked him, “sure. What is it?” he said to me, “your father. Is he like that with everyone or just with certain people?” I asked him, “certain people I guess. My family are purebloods and we tend to keep something like that in the family. So if someone from our family defies all of that, something happens to them like disowned or something.” he said to me, “that’s horrible.” I said to him, “well, there’s only so much we can do about stuff like that.” he said to me and I nodded and the both of us continued to talk. Later that night, it was getting late and everyone started going to bed for the night and both Draco and I had done the same thing and by the time I walked into my Dorm, I started getting changed and after doing so and getting into bed for the night, I just laid there staring up at the ceiling for a while thinking to myself about everything before I began to get tired and I eventually fell asleep for the night.

It was the next day and the first day of classes and after getting ready for the day, I left my Dorm and walked up to Draco before the both of us left the Common Room and made our way to the Great Hall for Breakfast and by the time we had gotten there, the both of us sat down next to each other and talked as the both of us ate. After a while, the both of us left the Great Hall and made our way to our first class of the day as the both of us had Herbology together and by the time we had gotten there, the both of us put something on before walking into the Greenhouse along with the other’s and we talked as we waited for Professor Sprout until she finally got our attention, “good morning everyone.” She said to us, “Good morning Professor Sprout.” We all said to her, “Welcome to Greenhouse Three Second Years. Now gather around everyone, today we are going to repot Mandrakes. Who here can tell me the properties of the Mandrake Root?” she said to us and I was about to raise my hand before she pointed to Hermione, “Yes, Miss. Granger.” She said to her, “Mandrake or Mandragora is used to return those who’ve been petrified to their original state. It’s also quite dangerous, the Mandrakes' cries are fatal to anyone who hears it.” Hrmione said and I sighed a little, “excellent, ten points to Gryffindor. Now as our Mandrakes are still only seedlings, their cries won’t kill you yet. But they could knock you out for several hours which is why I’ve given you all a pair of earmuffs for auditory protection so could you please put them on right away.” Professor Sprout said before we all started putting the earmuffs on before she continued, “flaps tight down and watch me closely. You grasp your Mandrake firmly. You pull it sharply out of the pot and you dunk it into the other pot and pour a little sprinkling of soil to keep him warm." She said to everyone before Neville fell to the ground, “Longbottom’s been neglecting his earmuffs.” Professor Sprout said, “no Ma’am he’s just fainted.” Seamus said to her, “yes well, just leave him there. Right, on we go. Plenty of pots to go around. Grasp your Mandrake and  pull it up.” she said before we all pulled out the Mandraks, filling the Greenhouse with screeching and crying and I managed to put the Mandrak into the other pot and put some soil in it before I noticed what Draco was doing before the Mandrake bit his finger and I laughed a little as he managed to pull his finger out before putting the Mandrake into the Pot, “that wasn’t funny.” he said to me, “yeah it was.” I said to him before we all continued to repot Mandrakes throughout the entire class and learn more about them. After the class was over, both Draco and I left and made our way to our next class as the both of us had Potions with Snape and by the time we had gotten there along with the others, the both of us sat down next to each other and talked before Snape finally walked into the room and began the class.
