Chapter Twenty: Prisoner of Azkaban

The summer Break had come to an end and both Esme and Carlisle were going to take me to Diagon Alley to get what I needed for school and by the time we had gotten there, we walked around getting the stuff that I needed and once I had gotten everything, we left and made our way to the train and by the time we had gotten to the Station, I said goodbye to the both of them and made sure that I had everything I needed before getting on and looked around before I finally found Draco and the other’s and sat down with them before I noticed something on the cover of the Daily Prophet, “Who’s that?” I asked Draco before he looked to see what I was talking about, “that’s Sirius Black. He managed to escape from Azkaban.” he said to me, “why was he there in the first place?” I asked him, “apparently people have said that he was sided with You-Know-Who and that he managed to kill one of his friends at one point.” he told me and I sighed a little as I furrowed my brows a little before I began to have a gut feeling that there’s something more to it than what Draco said before I was brought out of my thought’s when the train jerked to a stop before the light’s started flickering before everything went black, “what’s going on?” I asked, wondering, “Do you think the train broke down?” Crabbe asked, wondering, “it’s never happened before.” I told him before everything went cold and I started rubbing my hands together before we noticed something walk up to the sliding door and open it before seeing a cloaked figure as it looked around and it looked at me for a moment before it left and I let out a heavy sigh. After what had happened on the train, it finally started back up again and I was looking out of the window before I felt someone touch my arm and I looked to see that it was Draco, “are you alright?” he asked me and I shrugged a little, “I don’t know. What happened earlier just felt off.” I told him, “it's like that everytime one of them is near. It’s nothing to worry about unless there’s something going on.” he said to me, “no, it just felt depressing that’s all.” I told him, “I know, I’m sure you’re not the only one who felt like that.” he told me and I nodded a little before the trainrid continued. By the time they made it to the Castle, I had gone to the Common Room for the time being to get changed into my Robes before heading to the Great Hall along with the other’s and by the time we had gotten there, I sat next to Draco before the first years eventually walked into the Great Hall as they followed Professor McGonagall before she had started the Sorting Ceremony.

After the sorting Ceremony was over, the choir walked up and sang a song for everyone before they finished and sat down with their Houses before Dumbledore walked up and spoke up to everyone, “welcome, welcome to another year at Hogwarts. Now, I’d like to say a few words before we become to befuddled by our excellent feast. First, I’m pleased to welcome Professor R.J Lupin who has kindly consented to fill the post of Defence Against the Dark Arts Teacher. Good luck Professor.” Dumbldore said before the man stood up and most of the student’s clapped a little before he sat down and Dumbledore continued before Draco started teasing Harry about what had happened earlier and after a few moments, we continued to pay attention to what Dumbledore was telling everyone, “our Care of Magical Creatures Teacher for many years has decided to retire in order to spend more time with his remaining Limbs. Fortunately I am delighted to announce that his place will be taken by none other than our own Rubeus Hagrid.” Dumbledore said and we all clapped for Hagrid before Dumbledore continued, “finally, on a more describing note, at the request of the Ministry of Magic Hogwarts, will until further notice, will play host to the Dementors of Azkaban. Until such a time as Sirius Black is captured, the Dementors will be stationed at every entrance to the grounds. Now whilst I’ve been assured that their presence will not disrupt our day to day activities, a word of caution, Dementors are vicious creatures. They will not distinguish the one they hunt and the one who gets in their way. Therefore I must warn each and every one of you to give them no reason to harm you. It is not in the nature of a Dementor to be forgiving. But you know, happiness can be found even in the darkest of times when one only remembers to turn on the light.” Dumbledore said before he finished and eventually began the feast and we all started eating. After dinner was over for the night, I was making my way to the Slytherin Common Room before I heard someone calling my name and looked to see that it was Professor McGonagall as she walked up to me, “am I in trouble already?” I asked her, “no dear, nothing of the sort. I wanted to tell you that Professor Dumbledore wanted to see you in his office.” she told me, “alright. I’ll head there now then.” I told her before making my way to Dumbledore’s office along with Professor McGonagall before she said the password to Dumbledore’s office and I made my way inside before seeing Professor Lupin standing there as Dumbledore sat at his desk, “ah, Miss. Cullen you’ve made it. I’m sure you already know Professor Lupin.” Dumbledore said to me and I waved a little, “Remus, this is Rosella Cullen. She, in a way, is a lot like yourself. She too can become a wolf herself but there’s a difference between her and yourself.” Dumbledore said to him, “and what is that?” Professor Lupin asked, “she’s able to change at will. But she’s also something people will call a Tribrid. She happens to be all three, A Vampire, A Witch and  Werewolf.” Dumbledore told him and the room went silent.

After a few moments had passed, Professor Lupin finally broke the silence and spoke up, “how is that Possible? I thought vampires were a myth.” he said to Dumbledore, “well it seems it’s not.” Dumbledore said to him before switching the topic, “now the reason I have asked for Rosella to come here is because I want her to help you through your transformations while you’re here.” Dumbledore told him, “no. Absolutely not. I nearly get myself killed during the full moons.” Professor Lupin said to Dumbledore, “I understand that you do not want to endanger her but she is more than capable of handling herself. She is much stronger than you think Remus.” Dubledore told him and Professor Lupin let out a sigh, “fine but if something happens to her, I don’t want her helping for her own safety.” Professor Lupin said to him, “then it’s settled.” Dumbledore said to us, “I’m sure everything will be fine.” I said to them, “and Professor Snape has agreed to make Wolfsbane for you as well.” Dumbledore said, “that’s surprising. He practically hates everyone at the school.” I said to him, “I’m sure he has his reasons. Anyways, I want you to show an example if that’s alright.” h said to me, “you mean you want me to change?” I asked him and he nodded and I sighed a little before turning into my wolf and sat down, “bloody hell. At least she’s lucky enough to not go through all the pain.” Professor Lupin said and turned back into myself.

After I turned back into myself, we continued to talk about it for a while longer. After talking with Dumbledore and Professor Lupin about everything, I left the office and made my way to the Common Room for the night and by the time I had gotten there and walked in and sat down on the couch and thought about what had happened in Dumbledore’s office before I felt someone nudge me and saw that it was Draco, “everything alright with you? It took you a while to come back after dinner.” he said to me, “sorry, I decided to go for a walk.” I told him, not wanting to tell him what happened in Dumbledore’s Office earlier, “if everything alright?” he asked me, “yeah, everything is fine. I just spent the entire time thinking that’s all.” I told him ad the both of us continued to talk and hang out for a while before it got late and we decided to go to bed for the night and once I walked into my dorm along with Pansey, the both of us had gotten changed for the night before getting into bed before talking for a short while before she had gone to sleep and I thought to myself about everything for a while before going to sleep later that night.
