Carrie's POV
I was back in school sadly actually. I missed home, I missed everything and I wasn't so sure of what awaits me.
I walked into the school building and my classmates rush towards me, maybe I am happy to see them or maybe it reminds me that Nathan will be here too.
"Car bear" Sharon screams jumping on me. I smile inwardly at least people care, meaning I am not that shit of a person.
"Hey shar" I reply hugging her. I missed this sort of.
"Carrie" Avery, Chika, Bisi, Alexa and Nini screamed running towards me. Oh Lord!
They tackled me down with their hugs and I laughed. I was so sure I missed this.
"What's good guys?" I asked trying to stand up.
"It felt like forever" Avery said dramatically "I thought I lost my best friend".
"We really missed you" Alexa said and I smiled at her but inside I was wondering if this was the girl that had an abortion. She seems so angelic, I guess you can never really know a person that well.
"You are one to judge, you are no better"
"Hell if you had gotten pregnant, you would have killed the baby with a sniper"
My intrusive thoughts got the better of me as I couldn't help but think about if I had gotten pregnant. I would have taken a life, does that make me a horrible person. I had completely zoned out from what was happening around me.
"Car, car" Someone called shaking my arm jerking me out of my jumbled thoughts "where is your mind?"
"Dele hi, I didn't see you there" I replied somehow wishing to be alone.
"Carrie my love" Reign shouted and everyone laughed because he was so unserious.
I hadn't spoken to Alex since so I didn't know if he was in school or not.
"Hey guys please give her space" Chika shouted as everyone began walking back to their classes.
"Oh Kingsley is back" Nengi said before laughing away.
"Well we have a lot to tell you babe" Avery said looping her arm through mine.
"Hey" Alexa whispered when everyone was distracted"You look pale, you good?"
"Yeah" I replied "I am alright". I gave her a very fake smile.
"Okay then, both you and Alex are acting weird" She sighed.
I guess that meant Alexander was in school. I kind of felt bad that he wasn't here with them but it was for the best. I don't want to drag him into my shit. Que sera sera.
....
After I had settled down and been told that I and Alex are co captains of Blue House and also I had to coach the younger students for the upcoming competition. I felt like going back home and exams were in less than two weeks. I had a lot to cover and I was neither mentally, emotionally nor physically prepared.
"Hey senior Carrie" Anna called as I walked to the library.
"Hello love, how have you been?" I asked
"Good, I heard you were sick and you just came back to school so I made this during my creative arts class" She said handing me a purple glittering card that read 'Welcome Back'. I was so touched by her gesture.
"Aww thank you Anna, that's so thoughtful of you" I replied and she smiled "Are you competing too?".
"Nope but I am training really hard for the relay race" She replied
