As summer gave way to fall, the world outside took on a serene, calm atmosphere. The air, soft and gentle, was neither too cold nor too hot, and breathing it in felt like heaven.

The petite boy pedaled his bicycle, savoring the tranquility of the moment. He cherished the nature around him, the silence, and the calm, knowing that nothing remains the same forever-neither this peacefulness nor any sorrow.

When he reached a small cozy house, he finally stopped pedaling. He knocked on the door, which was opened by a lady with a warm smile. His blue eyes sparkled like the stars at the sight of her.

"Here, lady," he said, extending a white flower. "It was so irresistible that I had to pick it, and who deserves it more than you?" He gently placed the flower in her grey hair.

"What a sweet tongue you have," the lady chuckled, inviting him inside.

"All thanks to your candies," he replied, following her to the dining table with a grateful grin.

"I've made your favorite pancakes," Aera announced, taking a seat and motioning for him to join her.

"You've been making them every day, Sister Aera. Thank you," he said sincerely, his eyes reflecting his appreciation.

Taehyung had only arrived in Seoul a week ago, beginning his studies at Seoul University-the dream he had tirelessly worked towards for three years. He had transformed himself to secure admission to SNU. While Byeol had been a mentor, Taehyung had outgrown his role as a mere student; he had set aside his childish mischief the day he promised to become a better person-for someone he had loved and cherished for over a decade.

Aera, Mira's sister, worked at a church. Mira had sent Taehyung a week early so he could adjust to the new city before starting university.

"Silly boy, there's no need to thank me," Aera said, her tone both reassuring and motherly.

"Eat to your heart's content. Who knows what they'll serve you at the hostel?" she added with a concerned.

"It's the best university in the country. Of course, the food will be good. Don't worry," Taehyung reassured her.

"But it won't have the taste of your delicious food," he said with a wink, hoping to lighten the mood.

"Here you go again with your sweetness," Aera said, shaking her head affectionately.

"Here, this is for you," she said, presenting a box. Taehyung's eyes widened with surprise as he took in the unexpected gift.

"I can't take this," he mumbled, shaking his head in protest.

"Are you refusing my gift, little birdie?" Her voice carried a hint of sadness, revealing how deeply she cared. Taehyung knew she had a soft spot for him, but this gesture felt overwhelming.
