Kim Seokjin was born into a wealthy family, living a life that many could only dream of. During high school, he developed a crush on a new transfer student—a brilliant but endearingly clumsy boy named Namjoon.

They quickly became friends, but Seokjin always kept his feelings hidden, afraid that revealing them might ruin their friendship.

When Seokjin entered university, one event led to another, and to his surprise, Namjoon confessed his love first. Their families had no objections to the relationship, as both came from similar social backgrounds.

After completing their studies, they got married and pursued their respective careers—Namjoon established his own company, while Seokjin invested in the education sector.

The couple was blessed with a beautiful daughter, Kim Jisoo, who enjoyed a happy childhood, often surrounded by the children of their close friends.

Seokjin’s career also flourished. Climbing from the position of associate professor to provost officer was no easy feat, but he remained a man of principle. Throughout his career, Seokjin never once compromised his morals or betrayed his values.

Until one day, Seokjin received photos—photos of Jeon Jeongguk with one of his students. The boy he had loved and cared for, even before he was born, the boy he considered his own.

It felt like betrayal, a deep wound that cut through him as if Jeongguk had turned his back on everything he’d been taught.

Seokjin struggled with the flood of emotions—hurt, disbelief, disappointment—but he didn’t let the negative thoughts consume him. He told himself there had to be more to the story, something deeper than the surface suggested.

But his optimism crumbled when Jeongguk bluntly acknowledged the allegations. All at once, Seokjin’s hopes were shattered, leaving him to grapple with the harsh reality of the situation.

He was wandering through the garden, feeling overwhelmed and suffocated by the event inside. His gaze fell upon a figure seated at the edge of the pond.

As he drew closer, he realized it was Kim Taehyung, the boy with the piercing blue eyes. Seokjin had gathered information about him before the committee meeting.

Taehyung, an orphan who had earned his place here through a scholarship, had worked hard to reach here. Seokjin had never wanted to undermine the achievements of someone who had worked so diligently. However, that didn’t mean he didn’t harbor some disdain for the actions Taehyung had taken.

“Are you feeling any regret now, Kim Taehyung?” Seokjin's voice was gentle, though it carried a weight of accusation. Taehyung turned to face him, his blue eyes reflecting a deep, anguished pain.

Taehyung’s heart ached with regret. He wanted to shout from the depths of his soul that he was indeed remorseful, that he wished things had turned out differently.
