When Soha opened the door, she was greeted by a sight that made her pause. Jungkook was sprawled on the floor, fast asleep, while a tuft of hair peeked out from under a blanket on the bed.

Her brows furrowed in confusion. "Who did Jungkook bring here?" Her mind raced. Was it a one-night stand? But if that were the case, why would they be sleeping separately? A soft chuckle escaped her. Jungkook didn’t have the kind of charm to pull off something like this... who would love that chaotic head of his anyway?

Before she could think more snarky, Jungkook stirred awake. His doe eyes snapped open, wide and alert, like a deer caught in headlights. He immediately put a finger to his lips, signaling her to stay quiet.

"Shh," he whispered, not wanting to wake whoever was wrapped in the blanket. With a cautious glance at the sleeping figure, he quietly motioned for Soha to step outside.

She raised an eyebrow, trying to stifle a laugh. "Who’s the mystery guest that had the great Jungkook sleeping on the floor like some peasant?" she teased, wiggling her eyebrows.

Jungkook just rolled his eyes, letting out a silent sigh. "It’s not what you think," he mumbled under his breath, glancing again at the bed. "He’s Taehyun.,”

“What? What’s Taehyung doing in your room?” Soha asked, confusion knitting her brow.

“I was driving past the orphanage when I saw him with a bag,” Jungkook explained, his voice low and careful. “I thought he might have come here to spend some vacation time. . It was late, and I didn’t want him to disturb the orphange staff, so I offered him a place to stay.” The lie rolled off his tongue with practiced ease, yet he felt a twinge of guilt.

“You did good. Poor boy,” Soha replied, her voice softening with sympathy. “Go wake him up. I’ll make breakfast.”

“Why would I wake him up?” Jungkook grumbled, crossing his arms. “People wake up naturally when they’ve had enough sleep.” He knew they had stayed up late, and Taehyung’s sleep should be deep and restorative.

Taehyung opened his eyes, disoriented, and found himself blinking against the soft light streaming in. His mind whirled with remnants of the night, the weight of memories pulling at him. It suddenly struck him where he was: Jeongguk’s aunt’s home. Panic surged as he glanced at the clock—eleven o’clock already. But where was Jungkook?

Just then, the door swung open to reveal Soha, her warm smile brightening the room. Taehyung had met her many times before and always loved her cheerful personality, but right now, he wished he could close his eyes and pretend he was still dreaming.

“Ah, you’re awake, Taetae! I was just coming to wake you up. How are you, dear?” she beamed, and Taehyung offered a hesitant smile in return.

“I’m fine, Soha. How about you?” he mumbled, trying to shake off the remnants of sleep.
