It was five in the morning when Hoseok finally discovered Taehyung's location. Even for an experienced hacker, it had taken hours to counter-hack the phone. The phone cloning had made it nearly impossible to trace the location. But then, finally, the hacker pinpointed the address: the academic staff offices.
Hoseok sprinted down the corridors of the office building. He threw open Jeongguk's office door.
“Fuck,” he muttered, his voice laced with shock and frustration as his eyes fell on the scene before him: two bodies lying on the floor.
“Why the hell was I even worried?” Hoseok gritted his teeth, the anger bubbling inside him as he saw how close they were to each other. Jeongguk was half-naked, sprawled over Taehyung. Hoseok scoffed and shut the door behind him.
He took one step, then another, but stopped suddenly. Something felt off. If Taehyung was here in Jeongguk’s embrace, why had his phone been cloned? And if they were really sharing an intimate moment, why wasn’t the door closed?
Hoseok spun around, his heart pounding. He threw the door open and rushed toward them. The sight of their pale, lifeless faces sent a chill down his spine. Hoseok tapped Jeongguk’s face frantically, a sense of dread rising in his chest. Jeongguk wasn’t waking up—he was out cold. With trembling hands, Hoseok pressed his fingers against Jeongguk’s nose. His breathing was barely there, so slow that for a second Hoseok feared he wasn't breathing at all.
“What the hell happened here?” Hoseok muttered under his breath, his voice tight with panic. He fumbled for his phone, his hands shaking as he dialed.
“I’m sending you a location. Get here, and get here fucking fast,” Hoseok barked into the phone, his voice low and urgent. He hung up, his mind racing as he waited for Doo-shik, the head bodyguard. Within ten minutes, Doo-shik arrived. He scooped up Jeongguk’s limp body while Hoseok carefully lifted Taehyung. Hoseok knew better than to involve the police or doctors in this mess.
Minutes later, Hoseok was pacing the sterile corridor of the hospital, anxiety clawing at him as the doctors worked on Jeongguk and Taehyung inside. He spun on his heel to face Doo-shik, his eyes blazing with anger.
“I have so many fucking questions right now. How did you get here in just ten minutes? You must’ve already been near the university. I told you I didn’t need you!” Hoseok’s voice was sharp, accusing.
“Young master, it’s my duty to protect you,” Doo-shik replied calmly, bowing his head.
“Protect me? Or stalk me?” Hoseok spat, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
“I'll deal with your boss. Did he order you to follow me?” Hoseok demanded, his eyes narrowing.
“Yes, he did. But I’m not just doing this because of him. Madam entrusted you to me,” Doo-shik said evenly. The mention of Madam's name made Hoseok's retort die in his throat. He clenched his fists, swallowing the angry words he wanted to unleash. Silence hung heavy between them, thick with unspoken tension and fear.
