✧When the car came to a stop at the porch of the Jeon house, Jimin placed a hand on Jungkook’s shoulder.
"Your mom isn’t in the best condition, Jungkook. Please keep that in mind," he said in a warning tone. Jungkook nodded, feeling the weight of the moment.
As they entered the house, a somber atmosphere enveloped them. Close family and friends were present—Jungkook’s aunt Soha, Hoseok’s dad Jung Woo-sung, Jisoo, and her parents. It was the fourth day since the death, and only those closest to them gathered in shared grief. In time, others would leave, but the pain would linger, perhaps lessening, but never truly fading. They would all carry the weight of loss.
Seeing Jisoo, Taehyung’s lips trembled. She walked over and hugged him tightly, both of them breaking down in tears. They clung to each other, mourning their shared loss. Taehyung knew their pain was the same, but Jisoo remained unaware that his sorrow ran just as deep.
Jung Woo-sung pulled Jungkook into a tight embrace, his arms encircling the boy who had suffered in silence for far too long. Jungkook's body felt cold and rigid, as though all the warmth had drained from him in the past three days while everyone else mourned over Jeongguk. But Jungkook—he was numb, trapped in a void of grief that he couldn’t escape.
Namjoon had tried to reach him, to break through the cracks in his emotional armor. Jin had tried, too, hoping something—anything—would bring the boy back from the edge. Even with time, Woo-sung himself had tried, with quiet words and gentle touches. But Jungkook remained distant, detached from the world around him, his grief buried deep within.
So, Woo-sung hugged him. “We’re here,” Woo-sung whispered, his voice soft. “You’re like a son to us, and we’re here for you. Always.”
Though Jungkook didn’t respond, his eyes flickered with something—something that hinted at the fragile heart still beating beneath his pain.
The atmosphere was heavy with gloom. Silence filled the room, everyone lost in their own pain. Then Jungkook with slow steps made his way to his parents, wrapping them in a hug. Their responses felt robotic, especially Somi’s. Just like the other days, they held each other tightly, tears flowing, but words unspoken.

It was night when Jungkook hesitantly entered his parents' room, the dim light casting long shadows that seemed to mirror the heaviness in his heart.
His parents sat silently on the edge of the bed, their faces etched with the weight of loss.
Jungkook stood frozen at the doorway, unsure of how to step into the space that was now tainted by tragedy.
His chest tightened, his throat constricting as he fought back the tears that had been building for days. He didn’t know what to say, or if there was even anything left to say in the wake of everything that had happened.
