✧Humans were always strange creatures—living beings but different from all others. What sets them apart is conscience. It's that inner sense of what is right and wrong, guiding a person's thoughts and actions.
A moral compass. Whenever a human does something wrong, their conscience knocks on the door of their heart. If they listen and let it in, the conscience remains their guide. But if they ignore it, a time comes when the conscience gives up, tired of knocking and being ignored, leaving the person alone in their darkness.
Kang Chanyeol was sitting in a bar. It was daytime, so the club was empty.
"We waited the whole week for the stuff, and you gave it all to them," Do Yoon grumbled, frustration evident in his voice. His craving for a drugs gnawed at him.
"When are you going to release those pictures?" Hyunwoo asked, exhaling a cloud of vapor.
"I have another plan," Chanyeol said, his eyes narrowing with determination.
"And what the hell is that plan?" Do Yoon demanded.
"We're not going to release these on social media," Chanyeol informed them in a firm, unyielding tone.
"What are you talking about? We went through so much to get those! Are you backing out now?" Hyunwoo snapped.
"No," Chanyeol replied, his voice steady. He was resolute.
"You're an idiot. This would be the biggest scandal involving the Jeons," Do Yoon scoffed, shaking his head.
"Just admit it—you've got a soft spot for that blue-eyed guy," Hyunwoo voice drip with sarcasm.
"No, it's not that. If we post these online, we'll get caught up in the mess too. A scandal involving Jeon could ruin my family's company. My father has spent years securing a deal with the Jeons, and I'm not risking that," Chanyeol said, his jaw tightening. He knew the future of the company would one day be in his hands; he couldn't afford to sabotage it now.
"Then why do you keep those pictures, to put on your wall and stare at them every night until you fall asleep?" Hyunwoo taunted.
"I'll send the pictures to the university's ethics committee," Chanyeol replied, ignoring the jab. "They'll make sure no one ever finds out who reported it. Both will be expelled. This university won’t bow to the Jeons. The vice chancellor is a man of principle," he explained.
"That sounds perfect," his friends agreed, nodding in unison.

Taehyung was silent. Too silent, even for Aera. The boy wanted to be alone. He had barely eaten the day before, and today, he had no appetite for breakfast. His eyes were red and swollen from crying. Hoseok had come to check on him for a while, and Aera was grateful that Doo-shik wasn’t around this time.
