All night, Jimin's mind replayed the scenes of his life, one after another, like an endless reel of memories. He turned his head to the side, watching Yoongi sleep peacefully beside him. The intensity of the night had left Yoongi completely spent, but Jimin hadn’t been able to catch even a moment of rest. His eyes drifted to the phone on the nightstand, where Kai had sent him the address, urging him to meet. A heavy knot of dread tightened in Jimin’s chest at the thought.

Honestly, what was there to even talk about? Their lives had diverged long ago, each on a different path. Jimin had Yoongi now, the man who anchored him, who filled his life with love and stability. why was he so insistent on meeting?

For a fleeting moment, Jimin’s thoughts wandered back to the pain he had endured after Kai left. Did Kai even know the depth of the suffering he caused? Had Eun ever told his brother about the wreckage he'd left behind?

Before marrying Yoongi, Jimin had spent every waking moment in fear, dreading the day Kim Jongsoo might find him, drag him back into that nightmare he once called life. Each night was haunted by the possibility, his body tense with the fear of being forced back into that hell. But, miraculously, that day never came.

Now, as dawn crept through the windows, casting pale light over the room, Jimin felt that same familiar dread settle over him. The morning had arrived, and with it, the weight of decisions he didn’t want to face.

Jimin stood at the edge of the hill, the sprawling view of Seoul beneath him—a blend of quiet serenity and chaotic movement. The city pulsed with life, but up here, it felt distant, almost peaceful. He closed his eyes, breathing in the crisp morning air, letting the cool breeze wash over him.

The sound of a car pulling up beside his broke the stillness. Kai stepped out swiftly, his eyes immediately locking on Jimin. But Jimin didn’t turn, too lost in the moment, his hair tousled by the gentle wind. Kai moved closer, his steps soft on the gravel. For a fleeting second, he closed his eyes, trying to catch the faint scent of Jimin's hair in the breeze. But as his eyes opened, he found Jimin already looking at him, his face calm, peaceful.

Gone was the servant boy who once cowered in silence, always looking down, never speaking. Now, Jimin stood tall, brimming with confidence and grace. His ears glinted with Tiffany gold, a delicate bracelet adorning his wrist, rings decorating his slender fingers—one of them his wedding ring, the symbol of a life Kai had no part in.

Even without makeup, Jimin’s skin glowed with a natural radiance, his entire being exuding a sense of peace that Kai hadn’t seen before. His eyes held a tranquility, a stillness that spoke of the calm he had found in his life. And Kai, standing there, couldn't help but want to be the one to offer him that peace, though it was clear Jimin had already found it without him.
