Heartbreak touches everyone differently. Some people sink into their pain, losing themselves in its depth, while others, guided by the mind’s instinctive defense, seek ways to shield themselves from it.

When a person feels the sharp sting of loss, they often reach for anything that might dull the ache—whether that path leads to light or darkness.

Some turn to alcohol, hoping its haze will make the hurt vanish, while others seek comfort in fleeting, physical connections, trying to fill the void with momentary warmth.

Jungkook wasn’t immune to this. Without realizing it, he too was running from his heartache, grasping for something to ease the weight on his chest.

He sought solace in the one thing that had always brought him a sense of control: chasing thrills.

In those fleeting moments of excitement, he found an escape, hoping that each rush might carry him away from the pain, if only for a little while.

At the moment airplane was climbing steadily into the clear, azure sky, the Palm Jumeirah shrinking below. As they reached the right altitude, the door slid open, letting a rush of wind sweep in.

Jeon Jungkook, wearing a jumpsuit and harness, peered out at the sprawling, palm-shaped island beneath him.

He took a deep breath, gave the instructor a final nod, and stepped to the edge of the open door.

For a moment, everything seemed to pause as he jumped into the vast sky. The free fall was an exhilarating rush, a mix of wind and adrenaline as he hurtled toward the ground.

Jungkook floated above the Palm Jumeirah, which looked like a vibrant mosaic of turquoise waters and lush greenery. The view was breathtaking, the palm fronds stretching out in a stunning pattern against the blue sea.

Yet even the endless blue of the sky paled in comparison to the piercing blue eyes that had stolen his heart, eyes that now haunted his every thought.

The thrill of the jump quickly faded, leaving a hollow feeling behind. No adventure could take away the ache inside him. No matter how exciting, nothing could make him forget those blue eyes and that innocent face—the forbidden fruit he could never have.

After the thrill of skydiving, Jungkook found himself in a restaurant on the 122nd floor of the Burj Khalifa. The place offered stunning views of Dubai’s skyline and the Arabian Gulf.

As he enjoyed his meal, a notification pinged on his phone. He glanced at the screen, his expression shifting from casual to widening concern as he read the message. Soon, more notifications followed, amplifying his unease.
