I leaned over the edge of the counter and watched as mrs. Anderson printed out your schedules. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad, I thought to myself.i just have to find people I never talked to and wasn't nice to or friends with... so nobody. No that's not the plan. Everyone that is involved in this case are people I was friends with.
Mrs. Anderson flipped through our papers and birth certificates while checking things off on special lists. I'm really amazed we had managed to pull this off with all the fake information on Seth and Trent. I, on the other hand, was so deep in fraud that it would be almost impossible to link me to Leigh.
Of Course we weren't the ones who had done this. The Twins had their own bobby except his name was Clark. He didn't do much of hunting but helped hunters with identities and such. Clark reminded me of bill Murray physically and just in the way he talked. He told terrible jokes the few time I had met him when we stopped by his house in River Falls, Wisconsin. When we were first figuring out stuff with the case Clark came here and pretended to be our father.
The secretary handed us our schedules and I read through mine.
I was put in the same level classes as before but I didn't remember what hours I had what do I couldn't tell who would be in my class.
"And we have someone that'll show you to your class today and they should be here any secon-"
Right on que, the door behind us opened and the sound of muffled footsteps on carpet entered the room. The three of us turned to look at the three people coming in.
I vaguely recognized the first person walking in as Carter Payne, known for being the one of the nicest boys in our grade. The next person was Elise. She was a short girl with dark hair and eyes who was talented at anything musical or theatrical.we never really talked so maybe I could stick with her.
No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No.
Of course with my luck, the third person was Lucas.
My eyes widened and I spun around quickly so my back was facing him. I nudged Seth. He faced me gave me a facial expression saying 'what?', Then I gave him a look saying 'I'm screwed and so is this case'.
So much for avoiding him.
After some introductions and some explanation on class, we were on our way. Luckily, Lucas was showing Seth around so I wouldn't be closer to being caught. Elise and I made our way through the hall towards my first hour math class. She rambled on about how it was a really amazing school and the classes were fun and the people were "genuinely" nice. The good thing about Elise was that she talked a lot, which was nice because I wasn't in the mood for talking.
As we got closer to my class I started to really get the full on effect of being nervous. Was I dressed weird? I glanced down at my tan moccasins, light blue skinny jeans, and plain white loose short sleeved shirt. No this wasn't weird. What if everyone hates me? What if someone recognizes me? What if we can't stop all the killings?
If Elise hadn't said anything, I might've slammed my face into the door and broken my nose.
This was it. My first class. You can do this Leigh. Kennedy. Kennedy. Kennedy.
I exchanged a quick goodbye with my new friend and she said she would be here before class ended, and then pushed the door open.
When I walked in the door clicked shut and everyone turned their heads to look at me. I froze and glanced around slightly before the teacher finally saved me.
"Class, this our new student, Kennedy Waller. Kennedy why don't you come stand here and tell the class about yourself."
My body moved my legs forward while my mind screamed. Why me? Please no. As I made my way to the front of the room, I looked at my fellow classmates. I remember now. I had this same class before and all of my best friends were in it.
Fan-freaking-tastic.
"Well," I started awkwardly, "I'm Kennedy, and I used to live in River Falls, Wisconsin."
"Tell us more," no. "What do you like to do?" The teacher asked happily.
Yes, I like to burn dead bodies, stab possessed people, and watch my loved ones be brutally murdered in front me, how bout you?
"Well I'm really into volleyball, and I really enjoy reading." I said quietly and shifted uncomfortably. The class murmured slightly and I waited for the teacher, mrs. Calling, to tell me where to sit.
"Oh really? Have you read the supernatural books?"
Now I know why I didn't miss being at this school.
"Yes. I practically live in them."
A few people smiled and people then began discussing the most recent book.
"Aren't they just amazing?" The portly older women asked with a grin.
"Oh yea." I said while gritting my teeth. Adjusting the straps on my backpack, Mrs. Calling added another comment about how "sexy" Dean was, which made me want to throw up.
"You can sit over there by Sylvia."
No. No. No. No. I can't. I can't. I can't.
But of course, my body sat itself down next to Leigh's best friend. She looked as she did before I left. Same dark curly hair, same bright blue eyes, same freckled covered cheeks, same optimistic look. But this was going to be really bad. Thank GOD I had contoured my face and I was praying she wouldn't notice.
"Hi, I'm Sylvia." She said happily as the teacher started to prepare her lesson for the day.
"Hi." I said quietly before turning forward so she could see less of me.
Please let this class end.
I sat in the comfy chair in the auditorium while student filed in here and there so they could get to class on time. Truthfully I was terrible at drama, but Kennedy wasn't. Elise sat beside me and she discussed how the class was surprisingly fun and I came here just in time as we were doing a short partner scene that's due in about a week. When Clark enrolled us a week ago we had gotten some future assignment information and stuff like that so I had a vague idea of what was going on.
The teacher came in the second the bell rang and anyone who walked in after was tardy. After he told the class that there was a new student and pointed me out, he got on with the class which was a relief to me because I didn't feel like introducing myself another time.
"Okay so we talked about this before," Mr. Edison said while he scribbled down guidelines on a whiteboard. Every once in a while, Elise would whisper something to me about the class or a joke, or she would let out a laugh. I really liked that about her because she made everything less uncomfortable.
"Originally I was going to let you pick your own partners but," he paused, "the thing about acting is its re-acting! So I thought that I would put you with someone that might be your opposite." Please put me with Elise. "Don't worry Kennedy, you have a partner as well."
I shot him a smile before looking around and the other people in the class. There was only a few people I recognized but I didn't see anyone I needed to look out for.
"Ready?" Mr. Edison asked, but we all know he didn't want an answer. He started to read off names, and I was truthfully upset that Elise was with a girl named Kate. I waited patiently for my name.
"Kennedy and Lucas."
