GIA'S POV

It's been a week since the King's funeral. While most of the country and the world were still in mourning, life went on. I was a few weeks pregnant with Alessandro's baby. Mum and Kate were thrilled to hear the news and they insisted I tell Alessandro. But I didn't want to tell him yet. I thought perhaps he needed to deal with his father's passing for a bit then I would reveal the news.

This weekend, Kate and I were in Manchester for dad's business event. It was tonight and I had to make sure that everything was in place. He had the world's most elite businessmen and women attending as well as royals and presidents from different countries.

I was in my room, getting ready to go to the location where the event was being held. I woke up much later than I usually do. For the past week, I've been feeling more tired than usual and I get dizzy spells from nowhere. Dad thought I shouldn't attend the event but I insisted that I do.

I tied hair in a messy bun and grabbed my bag before heading downstairs. Kate was already there since the catering company needed assistance. I was about to leave when I heard a deep, husky voice call me. I instantly turned on my heel and gasped when I saw my brother Enzo Napoletano standing between the two staircases. His lips lifted up into a smile and he walked closer to me.

"Enzo, I didn't know you were here." I smiled at him and embraced him in a tight hug. He was a very tall man with a muscular body. His ink black hair was neatly gelled back and he was dressed in grey sweatpants with a matching grey hoodie. He looked exactly like our dad with his olive tanned skin and his smile. But there were hints of mum that you could see.

I met him the week I returned from Paris. He visited and stayed with Kate for a bit.

"Dad wants me to attend the event." He rolled his light brown eyes and I snickered.

"What's so bad about that?" I asked, folding my arms.

"The events are always so boring. People make speeches, I have to entertain dad's business partners and not to mention the girls who try to get my attention.

"Don't all guys love it when girls give them attention?" I looked up at him in confusion.

He shook his head, shoving his hands in his pockets. " They only want me for my money and fame. Besides I'm a one-woman guy." He shrugged.

"We need more men like you." I heaved a sigh and he chuckled.

His face became serious and he stared deeply into my eyes. "You remind me of her, you know."

My chest felt heavy when I saw the look of sorrow in his eyes. I could tell that our mother's passing still affected him. Kate told me that he was very close to her and they used to spend a lot of time together. I can imagine how hard it was for him to lose her.

I leaned forward and hugged him, with a squeeze. "I'm sure she's watching over us and she's happy to see us together."

We pulled away and he nodded. "I'm glad you're here, Gia. I love Kate but she can be a nuisance." He chuckled. "Don't tell her I said that."

I shook my head in amusement. "I need to get going. Do you want to come with?"

He nodded. "Let's go in my car."

We went outside where his black McLaren was parked. He drove to the event in no time. Kate and I spent the morning making sure that everything was ready for tonight before heading back home to get dressed for the event.

Alessandro was currently in Spain, accompanying his mum. They thought it would be best to get away for a while after the King's funeral. He also wanted to prepare himself for when he gets back since he had to prepare for his coronation. He wanted me to go with and meet his mum's side of the family in Spain but I already promised dad I would do his event. I didn't want to disappoint him because I know how much it meant to him.
