ALESSANDRO'S POV
After my meeting, I pulled out my phone and dialled Gia's number. It kept going to voicemail which made my pulse roar in my throat. She always answered unless she was occupied. Even when she was busy, I always knew what she was doing. I dialled Kate's number and she answered it after two rings.
"Don't make this any weirder than it is. I didn't see anything, and it never happened." She spoke into the phone, and I sighed.
"Kate, have you spoken to Gia?" I asked and there was a pause.
"The last time I spoke to her was this morning. She said she's spending the day with you." She answered.
"She did but she went back home to prepare for Kathy's arrival."
"I'm sure she's taking a nap. You know pregnancy makes you exhausted. But I'll call her and check on her."
"I already tried calling but it goes to voicemail." I replied trying not to raise my voice. Gia always answered her phone or left me a message letting me know where she is. The only time she never answered is when we argued.
She huffed. "Just relax, Alessandro. I'm sure she's okay. Perhaps she's just charging her phone."
I exhaled and looked out at the expansive garden.
"Okay but if she calls let me know." I said before hanging up. I walked back into my office and poured myself a glass of whiskey. I downed it then grabbed my suit jacket and headed out the office. I had to make sure she was okay. I might be a bit paranoid or overprotective but I always worried about Gia especially since she's home alone.
Anything could happen to her and no one would know. She could fall down the stairs and I would not know anything. I got into my Aston Martin and drove to her house with my guards following me. I instructed them to stay a bit behind me so no one would be suspicious.
My phone rang and I answered it.
"What's wrong, Andrew?"
"I saw Princess Beatrice's car heading towards Miss Napoletano's home, your majesty." He said.
My hands tightened around the steering wheel, making my knuckles go white.
"Why didn't you follow her?" I raised my voice.
"I'm here, your majesty. She's in great danger. I'm peeking through the kitchen window and Beatrice has a gun pointed at her. "
I nodded. "Go inside this instant. I can't lose Gia or the baby." I ordered before hanging up.
I pressed my foot on the accelerator, rushing to get to Gia. If anything happens to her or the baby, I wouldn't forgive myself. My life will have no meaning without her by my side.

GIA'S POV
Beatrice was about to inject me with the liquid when a phone began ringing. She rolled her eyes and pulled out the needle. "Saved by the bell." She heaved a sigh and took out her phone from her jean pocket.
I closed my eyes, exhaling deeply.
"What do you mean the plane's not ready?" She yelled into the phone and paced around. She spoke on the phone for a few more minutes.
I quickly looked around for an object I could use to cut the rope on my hands. There was nothing in sight. The only thing was a knife that was on the counter but that was far away from me.
