GIA'S POV
"Alessandro is going to drool over you." Mum stared at me in awe. She stood next to Kate, who was wiping her tears while trying not ruin her makeup.
I narrowed my eyes at her with teary eyes. "Kate stop crying or else you'll make me cry."
"I'm sorry, I can't help it. You look so beautiful and I'm so happy this day has finally come for you and Alessandro." Her eyes were alight with joy. I leaned forward and embraced her in a hug.
The doors opened, revealing Alexandra. Lucy walked in behind her, widening her smile as she met my eyes.
"Wow, you look stunning, Gia." Her eyes grew in awe and I thanked her.
"You are the most beautiful bride I've ever seen." An enormous smile spread across Alexandra's face. "I'm so happy to have you part of the family, carino." She embraced me in a warm hug then pulled away.
"Thank you, Alexandra." I smiled gently.
"I need to get going now. I will see you all at the church." She said with a nod before leaving.
"Ms. Hamilton and Ms. Napoletano, your carriages await to take you to the church." Lucy informed mum and Kate. They both nodded then gave me hugs.
"I'll see you at the church." Kate gave me a small smile and I returned it.
Mum engulfed me in a hug. I closed my eyes and tightened my arms around her. She patted my back gently. "Don't be nervous, dear. Today is all about you so enjoy yourself." She smiled softly.
I nodded, blinking away my tears. "I'll see you guys."
They left the room and I was alone in my thoughts. I took deep breaths in and out to relax myself. I was anxious to get to the church already and see Alessandro. He was probably already there standing next to Rafael in the church. I missed him so much and I couldn't wait to feel his touch once again. I'm sure his nerves were just as on edge as mine were.
Soon Lucy informed that the car waited for me outside. Lucy along with the other maids helped me get to the car where dad stood outside. He wore an expensive looking suit and stared at me adoration.
"You look so beautiful, sweetheart." His smile deepened.
"Thank you. I'm quite nervous." I admitted.
"There's no need to be. You are marrying the love of your life so keep your chin up." He looked at me with reassurance.
I nodded, inhaling deeply.
Once we got in the car, the driver took us to the church. The church was at Wintermoor Castle where the wedding would be taking place. On the way there were thousands people on the sidelines, cheering and throwing roses. I would wave every once in a while. After a short drive we got to the church. Kate stood outside with mum and they helped me with my trail. I waved at the crowd and they all cheered. I hooked my hand in dad's while Kate and mum stood behind me. The bridal song began playing and I walked down the aisle. There were many gathered in the church but I focus on keeping my posture.
The closer we got to the alter, the clearer I could see Alessandro. Our gazes locked, and time seemed to pause. His eyes were focused yet soft and he had a soft smile on his lips. Dad handed me over to him at the alter and he raised my veil over my face. He glanced at me, his eyes softening with tenderness.
"You look out of this world." His smile deepened.
I smiled sheepishly. "And you look dashing, people's prince."
He winked at me and squeezed my hand making my stomach flutter.
As the service went on, I couldn't help but reflect on the beautiful journey Alessandro and I had leading to this day. If someone told me I'd be marrying a King a year ago, I would laugh hysterically and call them crazy. Now I know that nothing is impossible even though it may seem as the most impossible thing.
As I stared into his gentle blue eyes, I recalled the first time I saw him at the coffee shop and now here I am marrying him. He was always there for me in ways no one else could have been. He even helped me find my family and now I'm at peace with everything that happened to me when I became an orphan.
I loved him more than words could describe and I couldn't wait for this journey that awaits us. It won't be rosy all the way but I know we'll overcome anything. Our love wasn't perfect, but it was beautifully flawed. It was a masterpiece in its imperfections.
"You may kiss the bride." The priest announced. Alessandro leaned down and kissed me with a slow tenderness that erased the world around us. I wrapped my arms around him, bringing him closer.
"I love you, princess." He whispered against my lips.
"I love you, people's prince."
***
We were currently vacationing on one of the private islands owned by the royal family. It was the fifth day of our honeymoon and Alessandro suggested we go for a couples massage then a private dinner on the beach.
"Did you really have to make sure the masseuse was female?" I narrowed my eyes at him in a critical gaze.
He put his glass of ice cold water down. "I will not have another man touch you." He said with anger brightening his eyes.
"You had a female masseuse and I didn't complain."
"It's not the same." He argued.
I stared at him in disbelief then looked away rolling my eyes. "I'm not even going to say anything."
I looked at him again and found him staring at me with a playful glint in his deep blue eyes.
"What?" My brows knit together.
"You're even more attractive when you're angry." His lips lifted into a mischievous smile.
"I'm not jealous." My voice rose and he chuckled.
He stood up from his chair and reached for my hand. I gawked at him in confusion and he kissed my temple. "I have a surprise for you."
I raised my eyebrows. "Really?"
He nodded and led me further down the beach. He held my hand and a remote in the other. I followed him until we came to a stop. He handed me the remote and I took it hesitantly.
"What's this for?"
"Just press the red button when you're ready." A soft smile played on his lips.
I looked down at the remote before staring up at him quizzically. "You're not planning to kill us with a nuclear bomb, right?"
He threw his head back laughing, a heartfelt, genuine laugh that made me smile in admiration. I loved seeing him laugh so genuinely without a care in the world.
"Of course not, princess." He replied once his laugh died down.
I nodded and looked at the remote. I counted to three before pressing the red button. A startled gasp escaped my lips when I saw fireworks lighting up the sky. My eyes grew wide with excitement and I turned towards him, embracing him in a tight hug. He leaned down and captured my lips in a deep, passionate kiss.
"You know how much I love fireworks. This is the best." I squealed.
His lips pulled back in a wide grin. "Enjoy the show, princess. It's for twelve minutes."
He stood behind me, pulling me closer and I snuggled more into him. It was the perfect, just the two of us enjoying being in each other's arms. Life felt surreal with everything going so smooth. We just got married and soon we'd be welcoming our first child together. I don't know, perhaps fairytales do exist?
The End.
